Austrian GP: Encouraging qualifying for Williams Racing
By Andrew Hooper
July 4 2020
Despite not making it through the first period of qualifying for the 2020 Austrian GP the Williams Racing Team would come away encouraged with the results. George Russell would finsh in 17th and Nicholas Latifi in 20th. For George his session would see him mixing it with other drivers finishing ahead of both Alfa Romeo's. The gap to other midfield runners was quite close so the prospects for the race are quite positive. For Nicholas he was able to set his quickest time of the weekend after having to cope with getting into his repaired car after very little Saturday running. Overall qualifying was a step in the right direction for the Williams team.

Great to see George mixing it with other teams. A spark of hope for the race. Apparently the second most improved lap time compared to last year (Only Racing Point improved more). So well done to everyone involved.
Looking forward to the race today, and to seeing where the team ends up. Maybe no points today, but a strong race and beating a few rivals will be good enough at the moment. Go George!

Well.. considering how Racing Point bought themselves their improvement, we can say Willians is the most improved team. I wonder what would have happened without the Ferrari engines debacle though...

Also, the track was faster in Q2 and Q3 than in Q1, some improvemant of RP can be contribioted to this.
