Bahrain GP: Disrupted FP2 for Williams Racing

Team Summary:
With the second Friday practice session for the 2020 Bahrain Grand prix been run under lights the Williams Racing Team would see George Russell return joining Nicholas Latifi. teams would again run the 2021 development Pirelli tyre during the session. Both Williams cars were out very early using the 2021 development tyre. After all the first runs Sainz was fastest with a 1m:30.989 followed by Verstappen and Norris. Both Ferrari's were out on the medium tyre for their first runs with Leclerc now in third. Norris was now fourth and Vettel using the medium tyre fifth. More drivers would start to come out on other tyres with Raikkonen going quickest with a 1m:30.928 from Sainz and Verstappen. On the medium tyre Verstappen would go quickest with a 1m:29.318 followed by Albon on the same tyre. But Gasly would move into second ahead of Albon while for

Magnussen was now in sixth running on the medium tyre but as Kvyat went third and Perez second he would drop to 8th. Williams both were still on the development tyre and were 16th and 18th. Both would put with just under an hour remaining. Both Ferrari's were now on the soft tyre currently in 11th and 14th. More drivers were now out on the soft tyres with Verstappen still quickest from Perez, Ricciardo, Gasly, Norris, Kvyat, Albon, Vettel, Sainz, and Ocon tenth. Only Sainz and Ocon were currently on the medium tyre while Verstappen would not improve on the soft tyre. Gasly would improve to now be third on the soft tyre. But Bottas also on the soft would move into second. But the session would be red flagged as Albon was to crash. He would run wide at the final turn and would lose control of his car seeing it crash going heavily into the barriers.

The session would go green only to turn red again as a dog was reported on the track. Those who had gone out had to return to the pit lane. But the circuit would again go green and Hamilton on the soft tyre he would set a 1m:28.971 to move ahead from Verstappen and Bottas. Perez was now fourth followed by Ricciardo, Gasly, Norris, Stroll, Kvyat, and Albon in tenth. These positions would remain unchanged as the session ended. For the the Williams drivers they would finish in 18th and 20th after a difficult to read session with the red flag stoppages as well as having to run the 201 Pirelli development tyre.

George Russell:
George was also running on the Pirelli development tyre for his first run. A 1m:34.274 from George on the development tyre. George was currently 16th with about eight minutes of the session completed. He would pit after a five lap run. George would return with fifteen minutes of the session completed. He was again on the development tyre currently 17th. But he would set a 1m:32.404 to be ahead of his team-mate in 15th. A 1m:31.937 from George would see him 13th. But he would drop to 16th. George would pit after completing his runs on the 2021 development tyre. In his pit he would drop to 17th. With forty five minutes remaining George would return also on the soft tyre. But his run would be ruined with a red flag. George would be out early upon the circuit going green but would have to pit again as a result of another red flag. Again the circuit would go green and George was straight back out. He would finish with a 1m:636 but he would not get a huge leap in performance on the soft tyre. He was now 20th and would pit after a three lap run. It was reported that George had a few lap times deleted due to track limits. George had set a 1m:35.502 only to see it deleted due to track limits at Turn 4. George would pit after an eleven lap run as the session ended.

Nichols Latifi:
Nicholas was out very early running on the Pirelli development tyre. he would set a 1m:33.400 which would see him ahead of George. After all the opening laps he was down in 14th. he would improve with a 1m:33.167 to be 13th dropping to 14th. With eight laps completed on the 2021 tyres Nicholas would pit. He would also come out for a second run on the 2021 development tyre. He was now 16th with an hour and ten minutes remaining. Nicholas would set a 1m:32.748 to currently be 17th. He would drop to 18th and would pit after a eight lap run on the 2021 development tyre. with fifty five minutes remaining Nicholas would return on the soft tyre. He would set 1m:30.973 to be 16th. He would drop to 17th. he would be required to pit with Albon's red flag. With fifteen minutes remaining Nicholas would return on the medium tyre. With six laps on the medium Nicholas would tell his engineer that the rears were already gone. Nicholas would pit after a eleven lap run on the medium tyres.
