Singapore GP: Williams Racing Grand Prix Preview
By Williams Racing
September 28 2022
After a lengthy break from the Formula One calendar the Singapore GP would make a return. After the encouraging points scoring performance in Italy Williams Racing Team would move to the Marina Bay Circuit. For the team they expect to see Singapore to be far more of a challenge despite the FW44 performing well in the last two races. For Alex Albon and Nicholas Latifi both are keen to return to the Singapore circuit. For Alex having been replaced by Nyck de Vries in Italy he is keen to return even if it will be a challenge. For Nicholas Latifi, coming off the announcement that he will be leaving the team at seasons end, he is keen to compete on the Singapore track for the first time. Like every other race Williams needs to be able to take hold of any opportunities such a penalties or weather they may present themselves.

Having said that, the car has made progress and it wasn't that far off points in zandvoort either, so whilst I don't expect spa/monza levels of competitiveness, I'm hopeful they will keep me interested with a q2 run and an outside sniff of points.

Points are going to need some luck, and it doesn't help that there are fitness questions surrounding both de vries and albon, the only drivers capable of doing anything.

You are right crusty. That is what keeps it exciting isn’t it. Anything can happen. Personally I would discount Albon if I was the boss to let him recover fully.
