United States GP: Mixed qualifying for Williams Racing

Team Summary:
Both Williams were out early as we had Schumacher go quickest with a 1m:37.816 and a Williams third. But as more times came in it would be Leclerc quickest with a 1m:35.795 followed by Verstappen and Hamilton. But Sainz would move ahead with a 1m:35.297 to be ahead of Leclerc, Verstappen, Hamilton, Perez, Russell, Alonso, Bottas, Stroll and Gasly tenth. The Williams pair were currently 15th and 17th as drivers started their second runs. With the second runs complete we would see one Williams though in 15th but the other was out in 20th. The order at the top was Sainz from Leclerc, Verstappen, Hamilton, Perez, Russell, Alonso, Norris, Gasly and Zhou tenth.

The second period would commence with a Williams out straight away joining another group of cars and it would go quickest only to see Bottas move ahead with a 1m:36.748 but all would change with Leclerc going quickest with a 1m:35.246 from Verstappen, Sainz, Russell, Perez, Hamilton, Alonso, Bottas, Zhou and Norris tenth. The remaining Williams was currently 11th and with its second run would move into eighth. But as other runs were completed the order would become Leclerc, Verstappen, Sainz, Russell, Hamilton, Perez, Alonso, Stroll, Bottas and Norris with the Williams now 11th as Zhou's lap time had been deleted.

Alex Albon:
Alex would be first out for Williams running on the soft tyre and would set a 1m:37.987 to be third. He would drop to tenth as other times were set. This would become 18th very quickly. He would improve with a 1m:37.319 to be 15th but would drop to 17th. He has complained about Hamilton impeding him and he pitted. He would return for a second run and would set a 1m:36.932 to be 15th and through to Q2. He would return for his run in Q2 and would set a 1m:37.124 to be quickest dropping to third as he pitted after a three lap run. This would become 11th and he would return for his second run. He would improve with a 1m:36.368 to be eighth. This would become 12th and as a result was out of qualifying. But as other drivers times were deleted he would move up to be 11th.

Nicholas Latifi:
Nicholas would follow Alex out for his first qualifying run using the soft tyre. He would be the last to set a time and would only manage a 1m:37.244 but this would see him ahead of his team-mate. He was currently 15th as he pitted after a three lap run. But he would quickly return for a second run. He would drop to 20th and would not improve and would remain in this position and out of qualifying.
