Alex Albon:
"In terms of mileage, we’ve had a very good three days. We’ve ticked everything we wanted to tick off and completed our race and qualifying runs. Now it’s about going through the data and seeing what we’ve got. We’re definitely in a better place in comparison to this time last year, it’s just more about how far we can take it."

It really comes across that he used to be a race engineer. Its rare to hear team principals talking about the performance impact of 180 degree wind direction changes. I liked his emphasis on solving their issues the fastest. Refreshing after 2022 when williams did nothing until July and suggestive they have something coming sooner.

He could be a good boss at last, we sure do deserve one, it has been a long time to wait.

He may have a few guys in mind back at Merc that he would like to nick and bring to Williams maybe.

He did paint a picture of no issues but I did know after talking to a mechanic that they did have an issue when Logan Sargeant was in the car. Happened when they were testing a procedure if the car has an electrical issue, the rubber gloves type of issue, which despite being a test actually had something go wrong that saw the laptops out as they resolved it.

Apart from this everything did seem to go quite smoothly. I am still trying to understand why I was only seeing two mechanics per wheel when they were doing tyre changes. It may have been the case that they only had a certain number of mechanics in the test team and things will change once the full compliment of staff arrive for the race.

I am very sure that JV will be with the team for some time. At that level you don't make that level of commitment or would the team expect it for just one season. But having said that people can always be bought out of their contracts.
