Singapore GP: Williams Racing Grand Prix Preview

After a great weekend for the team in Baku, we are looking forward to going racing in Singapore. As one of the few night races of the year, Singapore has its own special ambiance which makes it a unique track for us to visit.

Last year we were running in the points with Alex before he retired, so it will be interesting to see how the new package performs at this track. It’s a much bumpier track than Baku and brings another level of challenge with the heat and humidity which makes it one of the hardest races of the year for the drivers.

Franco Colapinto:
After a positive result in Baku, it’s important to reset, refocus and start the learning process again for another new track. Singapore is known for being one of the most physically demanding circuits of the season with the temperature and humidity. The conditions are a challenge for any driver, and it will be a real test to see how my body is adapting to the demands of driving a Formula 1 car. I’ll be building up throughout the Free Practice sessions ahead of Qualifying. We’ll continue to work hard as a team to hopefully build on the momentum from Baku.

Alex Albon:
It's a great feeling to be in Singapore following a double-points weekend in Baku. As the closest race to Thailand, Singapore is like a home race for me so it's super special to come and race here. The track has some similarities with Baku, although the bumpier surface and extreme heat make it one of the most challenging tracks of the year, so it will be interesting to see how the upgrades perform in these conditions. This weekend we'll aim to build on the momentum from Baku and understand more about the car with our additional upgrades.
