Williams Racing will unveil its 2025 Formula 1 car on February 14 as the team enters the next stage of its transformation plan in F1’s 75th year.

The FW47 will be revealed to fans, partners and media at a special promotional event at the historic Silverstone circuit, home to the first-ever Formula 1 Championship Grand Prix in 1950. It will appear in a bespoke one-off livery, with the 2025 race livery being revealed on February 18 at the unprecedented F1 season launch at London’s The O2.

In a significant step on the team’s transformation under the ownership of Dorilton Capital, Williams will have one of the most formidable driver line-ups on the grid as four-time race winner Carlos Sainz joins Alex Albon for the 2025 season and beyond.

Williams is an icon of the sport with a glorious history that includes nine Constructors’ World Championships, seven Drivers’ Championships and 114 race wins. The team is investing in the people, technology and infrastructure needed to achieve its long-term mission of returning to the front of the grid and winning multiple World Championships.

James Vowles, Team Principal: “There is a tremendous amount to look forward to for Williams in 2025 – we have fantastic race drivers in Alex and Carlos, top engineers joining from across the grid and new facilities becoming operational at our Grove HQ. As part of our comeback plan, we have been working on our 2025 car for some time and I can’t wait to see it at Silverstone on February 14. Everyone in the team is giving everything to get this team back where it belongs as we head towards the major rule changes for 2026. It’s going to be an exciting year.”

Alex Albon: “Everyone at the factory is working hard to get our car ready for the new season. Launching on February 14 should be a great way to start an important year for us as a team, fighting as hard as we can with both cars from the outset this year and looking forward to opportunities ahead in 2026. I can’t wait to see the results of the teamwork and dedication that makes this team so special.”

Carlos Sainz: “It’s an important time for the team and we are all going to push to bring Williams back to the front of the grid as soon as possible. I was very impressed with the team back in Abu Dhabi. After a long year, it was great to watch the motivation and effort that everyone put in at such an important test. Thanks to that, we’ve been able to put together a solid plan and we have already started working on it to make sure we are as prepared as possible ahead of the pre-season test and first race. We’re not far away from the Silverstone car launch and I can’t wait to see my new ride! 2025 will be an exciting year and we are fully committed to putting together a strong season. VAMOS!”

I’d imagine this might be the news Andrew hinted at. Probably the launch of new title sponsor.

My guess is that they will do a big Santander title sponsorship event, with a one-off all red livery. Then unveil the real 2025 livery at the London event 3 days later.

Title sponsor. I think you could be right but I can't say who it could be.

I've the same feeling that there will be new partner on board (maybe not Santander as title partner), they have annouced the partnership just before the Abu Dhabi test drive. I hope for another good sponsor as Williams has been commercially very active in the last few years.

Santander announced its sponsorship a few weeks ago, right? I don't remember an sponsor announcement just to make it as a title sponsor in a few months time.

I’m going to have a little bet our title sponsor might be Telefónica!

What brings you to that conclusion?

They have always been in and around motorsport / bikes….and focus on the Spanish, Chinese and Latin America markets.

Sainz been Spanish…Telefonica can get bang for their Buck title sponsoring Williams and their logo is blue / white.

Just a hunch…yes you could easily come up with countless other Spanish companies as alternatives.

I overheard someone talk about Williams today, a rarity that happens once every 3 or 4 years here in Guatemala. To me, at least... It was the barista, a young girl no older than 22. My ears perked up when I heard ""Colapinto.... estaba en Williams... Checo afuera..."

Talk about a demographic shift in our audience. Amazing.

Yes the audience for Williams has most definitely shifted.

Lot younger and non British seems to be the majority these days.

But if this opens up new markets and new sponsors, as we saw with the sponsors we picked up while Colapinto was driving for us, I am all for it.

Why do this "partner launch" separate from the livery launch unless there are new deals to announce?

I think title sponsor is likely, and perhaps a few smaller deals too.

Becouse all the teams have to have livery launch on new for this year F1 launch event.

Demographically I help raise the bar to upper middle age!
Hoping the title sponsor isn’t Kodak

But hoping it is a real company with a real product not some crypto thing.

It just occurred to me that the sponsor launch is on Valentine's Day...

Is it just me, or is that more than just a coincidence? I mean, it's not like Williams were running out of options, and couldn't choose any other day. So why Valentine's Day? Could it imply a sponsorship deal that is related or am I reading too much into this?

I wouldn't have the first idea what company in Spain, other parts of Europe or Thailand that would be connected to this day and be wanting to put serious finance into Williams.

The only possible connection I could think of would be a Social Networking platform? A dating service? A florist network?

Now that Ive read what I've written... Maybe I shouldn't post the first thing that comes to mind after waking up in the early morning! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yep on those lines Mr Brooks, maybe we’re going to be sponsored by;

BUMBLE- we have bumbled along a bit recently

GRINDER - with all the crashes last year we all felt it was a bit of a grind!

Looks like the team is going to use another film day just prior to F1 pre-season testing. Will be at Bahrain. Sensible use of their time to complete systems checks prior to testing commencing.

Also Williams, if you have not seen it already, is having a competition at williamsf1.com where 47 lucky people can get to go to the FW47 launch at Silverstone.

Sucks for me been in Australia but those who could get to go would be a great experience.

Love it!

This kind of speculation could easily send us down the rabbit hole. Lol

great read ghettonation. I knew they had sponsored an f1 team previously but I didn't realise they got f1 cancelled from tv for a whole season.

Imagine vowles signing up a sponsor that gets f1 banned from tv in 2025? The teams would be in uproar - and the track promoters. Would drive to survive have to feature... themselves? trying to talk vowles out of it?

Of all the brands that have sponsored f1 teams, durex is probably the most benevolent of all! I'd love to have a social marketing focused team. Preservatives, responsible credit coops, education startups, whatever. Maybe in a parallel universe.

I really don't know what to think about those seat fitting pictures. Can a seat fitting be done on a mockup chassis? Becouse the airbox inlet in those pictures is not the same as in the video of the first fireup, it looks more like one of the older ones.

I wouldn't look to much in to these pictures, but you never know.
