Canadian GP: Another points result for Williams F1 Team

The Atlassian Williams F1 Team would secure another points result in the 2026 Canadian GP through a 9th place finish for Carlos Sainz. For team-mate Alex Albon his race would end very early when he was involved in an incident with Piastri as the McLaren misjudged a passing move seeing his car crash into the side of the Williams ending Alex's race. With a race start that would had seen rain falling a wide variety of tyre types had been selected with Carlos starting on the intermediate and Alex the soft. But very quickly it was realised that the intermediate was the wrong tyre as the track dried. Carlos would pit very early changing to mediums. He was then able to move forward as a result of other drivers pitting as they had made the wrong tyre choice as well as some retirements.  Aside from a moment right near the end Carlos was able to remain in 9th. It was such a shame for Alex as his tyre strategy may have paid dividends had he not been hit.
