More disappointment from Jaguar

Sunday was another disappointing race for Jaguar with Eddie Irvine retiring in evident frustration and Pedro de la Rosa taking the chequered flag in a position well outside the top ten.

What began as a difficult weekend for Jaguar Racing got no easier as the Hungarian Grand Prix got underway on Sunday afternoon afternoon at the hot and humid Hungaroring. The race began under a sweltering track temperature of 30 degrees celsius and began well for Jaguar Racing drivers Pedro de la Rosa and Eddie Irvine who started the race in 15th and 16th positions respectively. Eddie made an excellent start and had climbed up to 13th place by the end of the first lap. Eddie’s race, however, was short-lived and on lap 24 he was forced to retire after a misfire problem on his Jaguar R3. Pedro drove a determined race and crossed the finishing line in 14th place.
