Being the only Australian on the grid, Mark Webber has naturally had more than his fair share of attention from the media already this weekend and been involved in a whole host of public appearances. On Thursday morning at the Albert Park track he also found time to do something that had nothing to do with marketing activities or media. Australia’s Association for the Blind had asked if a visit to the track was possible and Mark met with a group of six of them to give them a garage tour. Given the disability, perhaps the best part of the tour for them was the chance to do what is usually frowned on in any race garage and that was to run their hands over the sensuous curves of the car’s bodywork, to get a real feel for speed.

Several teams have completely revamped their clothing for this season, with Renault guys looking like Buzz Lightyear, Ferrari going very retro with lots of white, Toro Rosso going for gold, with a Gladiator look and as for us, well we’ve decided to go for the “British Gentleman” look which is why the drivers’ race suits and the team clothing all feature a classy pin stripe suit effect. Maybe Adrian Newey should abandon his laptop computer and walk around the garage with a tape measure around his neck and some pins in his mouth.
