Ok our predictions for monaco glory were more emotional than anything else. Logically this circuit should suit our car/aero alot better.
Marks best chance yet???

Silverstone will be even better, but hopefully Turkey will be good too.

As much as Silverstone will suit RB5 the assumption that "Silverstone will be even better" assumes that the other teams development pace is linear and has a one value correlation relative to RBR.

My comment has nothing to do with development. As Brundle said after Bahrain GP, and I agree, the teams don't actually find that much time developing through a season. Maybe 4 tenths, 5 tenths, more if you start off at a lower point, like Renault last season. The variations of the order from track to track are more down to track characteristics, rather then development.

Silverstone will be the strongest track for RBR because it has the most fast corners, the whole first sector, and some more later in the lap, and few slow corners etc. Top speed is nothing, it's all about mid corner speed, more so then any other circuit. The only problem for Redbull is that there isn't more tracks like this on the calender.

Horner said: "In Istanbul, the RB5 will essentially be in the same specification as in Monaco, with a few minor aero updates."


Brawn said: “Development work on the BGP 001 car has continued apace at the factory and we will be bringing a new front wing to Turkey along with some aerodynamic updates and new rear suspension elements,”

I think that RB needs to have a more aggressive developments...

Go back a race, we had a whole new diffuser and floor. Making a trend on things on a single bit of information is a bit ragh.

No it does not assume anything about development pace. That was not even mentioned, that said we have quiet clearley developed as well as anyone out there, evidenced through maintaining our position in the WCC over a varying array of tracks.

What it 'assumes' is that the charachteristics of Silverstone should suit our car even more so than the charachteristics of Turkey. But its widley accepted that we should be strong in Turkey regardless.

Turkey and Silverstone will be a good test for our new floor/DDD. This is where our development will (hopefully) shine.

Q. Turn 8 must have been horrendous in last year's car, presumably you're now looking forward to it?

JB: I am, but it's probably the weakest corner on the circuit for our car. I think that the Red Bull will be very competitive through there. If you look at Barcelona in the two high speed corners they were taking one and a half to two tenths out of us each of them, which is massive. Everyone says 'your car must be amazing' in high speed, but it's not compared to the Red Bull. So that's an area we need to work on, for sure. We're not as weak as the McLaren, for example, in high speed corners, but it's an area we've got to work on because it's not only going to gain or lose you a lot of time in Turn 8 because it's such a long corner, but it can damage the tyres if you haven't got the balance right.

I've been watching a lot of data from previous years. The good thing is there's only one high speed corner on the circuit. Coming here I was thinking Red Bull are going to be very, very strong - are we actually going to be able to touch them? But if you think about it, it's not a high speed circuit. There are so many long straights you think it's a high speed circuit, but it's only really Turn 8.

Q. So is that more of a worry for Silverstone then?

JB: Yeah, that is a bit of a worry, but I hear it's not so much of an issue, just one long corner, it's not as much of a problem as Silverstone.

Q. So are you concerned about Silverstone?

JB: Not really concerned, but we're going to have a lot of competition there and it won't be an easy race, that's for sure. But at the moment I'm not thinking about it too much. Let's think about this one for now. I'm sure we can sort out some of our issues in the high speed corners. We've got something different aerodynamically, the front wings are a bit different, and hopefully that will help us.

The Brawns will be hard to match since the car is enormously good in basically every type of corner.

You can lose relatively so much more in the slow corners than you can gain in the high speed section.

Watch closely RBR's S3 times tmw. I'm fairly certain that section is going to be the telling differentiator.

Ummm...isn't S3 by far the smallest sector? I don't think we're going to see much difference there.

i think brawn is just crappy as they wont be able to have 30 more fuel laps than everyone else and still stick it on pole by 1 and 2 tenths from everyone , here come the bul , its gonna bite you, here comes the bull were gonna fight you, here comes the bul, all other teams go fly your kites, dc to wear a kilt and well lucky for him there is wide screen tv's and so forth, to fit his jaw in, here comes the bull gonna catch the brawns from here on in, 13 races to go !, webber to outscore button by roughly 2.3 points per race to get that title , and here comes the bulls 1 and 2 all the way home :-)

Go bul , time to shine again and come on fets your turn to get your first 2nd place !!!
