Pizzonia Shocked By Jaguars decision to drop him

24/7/03. Antonio Pizzonia has revealed that the decision to drop him after the British Gp came as a complete surprise – particularly after his recent stronger performances. He’d been looking forward to the German GP were he’d hoped to show even more improvement and get some points.

Here’s what Pizzonia had to say: "The sudden decision by Jaguar Racing not to let me continue as a full-time Formula One driver came as a complete shock to me. As the season has progressed, my performances have improved."

"As has been widely reported, Jaguar offered me a reserve driver and testing role - but I have declined this. "I now have to reflect on what has happened and decide which is the best course of action for me to take. However, I fully intend to pursue my career in Formula One."

Jackie Stewart doesn’t agree with the decision to drop Pizzonia Either and had the following to say:"I would have given Pizzonia more time.”
"I think he was progressing and he is only 22 years of age. But he did have great difficulty qualifying with the one lap format."

Jackie Stewart once told Pizzonia’s replacement, Justin Wilson, that he’s too tall for Formula One.
