Two popular figures have joined Red Bull Racing

Two positions have been filled at Red Bull Racing yesterday. These additions to the team shows how determined the management is to secure a successful start to the teams Formula 1 career. The positions which have been filled by the new additions are Deputy Technical Director and Head of Development

It was rumored that Mark Smith was joining Red Bull Racing. Yesterday, from the Milton Keynes office, Red Bull Racing confirmed that Mark Smith was to be the new Deputy Technical Director with immediate effect. Mark is 43 years old and born in England. Mark comes from a very successful Formula 1 career and is sure to be a fantastic addition to the team. Mark started his F1 career at Jordan Grand Prix in 1991. He remained with the team until 2004, and was part of the team who took Jordan through some of the most successful and exciting times in there Formula 1 career. When Mark left in 2004, he joined Renault F1. Renault has had a fantastic start to there F1 career and Mark has been a major influence on the success the team have had. At the end of the 2004 season, Mark left Renault and had a brief spell at Jordan in December, before committing his future to Red Bull Racing. Red Bull Racing had to beat Toyota who also wanted his services. Christian Horner, Sporting Director of Red Bull Racing, told us; "I'm delighted that we have managed to secure Mark's services at Red Bull Racing. He brings race winning experience to the team and will form an important part of the foundation that we are putting in place." We also spoke to Red Bull Racings Technical Director, Günther Steiner who commented; "Mark is widely respected throughout the entire sector. He did exceptional work for both Jordan and Renault and is one of Formula 1's most experienced technical experts. We're really delighted we were able to win him over. Anton Stipinovich has also joined the team, and is taking over the position of Head of Development. Anton is from South Africa and is 42 years old. Anton worked for Ferrari for the last four years and prior to that worked for McLaren. This is a great addition to the team and I’m sure we will benefit from his experience and knowledge. Red Bull Racing will make there debut race in Melbourne next weekend.
