Megson Declares Molineux Interest

FORMER West Bromwich Albion boss Gary Megson has today declared his interest in the Wolves job and doesn't see why his Albion links should stop him becoming Glenn Hoddle's successor at Molineux.

Gary Megson has been strongly linked with the managers job at Wolves since the departure of boss Glenn Hoddle over a week ago and Jez Moxey added fuel to the Megson flame at last night's Fans Parliament.

The full fans parliament minutes can be seen at www.wolves.co.uk but when asked what strengths the new Wolves boss should have, Jez Moxey appears to describe Megson to a tee.

Speaking at last nights meeting, Jez Moxey said "We're looking for a manager who has some experience and who possibly has some experience in winning promotion; one who will at least get the team to perform to the very best of its ability. The successful candidate must show us a track record, I believe, and show in interviews how much he wants the job."

Megson was the topic of much discussion in 2004 following the sacking of Dave Jones but fan pressure appeared to end any chance the former Stoke City boss had of landing the Molineux hot seat.

However with Wolves again without a manager Gary Megson has again thrown his hat into the ring. Speaking to the Express and Star the former Albion boss said "I have had three opportunities to get back into management since Forest but I haven't felt any of them were right. But of course I would be interested in Wolves - It is a huge club with tremendous backing from the fans"

Gary Megson's hitsory with arch rivals Albion - where he twice clinched promotion to the Premiership - may be his only stumbling block, but he doesn't believe that should hamper his chances.

Megson added "I was West Brom Manager - I really enjoyed my time here and we did very very well. But I have no allegiance to West Brom in particular. The next club I go to will have the same passion and commitment that Gary Megson would take to any club he worked for"
