New boss in "very near" future - Moxey

WOLVES Chief Executive Jez Moxey has admitted that the club hope to be in a position to announce a new manager in the "very near future" after he faced abuse following the side's 1-0 defeat to Burton Albion on Saturday.

The Wolves CEO agreed to do a live interview for radio Talk Sport after the show were inundated with unhappy Wolves Fans demanding to know what is going on at the club following the side's 1-0 defeat to Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.

And the Wolves Chief Executive admitted Wolves were very close to appointing a manager by declaring he hoped an announcement could be made in "the very near future".

Speaking on Talk Sport Jez said "We are currently interviewing for the manager job and we hope to appoint a manager in the very near future, and I'm not talking weeks, I'm talking the very near future. I hope when that manager is in then everything can start to settle down and that manager can start bringing players in to prepare for the season ahead."

Moxey was the subject of much criticism at the defeat to Burton with fans furious with the current going-ons at the club. Wolves are yet to bring a single player into the club whilst many have left, leaving the squad bare to the point of the friendly with Kidderminster Harriers being cancelled due to the lack of numbers available.

However Moxey replied by saying "Let's be clear, we have sold two players. We have released players we didn't want to keep. We have lost Mark Kennedy who we did want to keep and tried very hard to keep but he has gone and signed for Palace. We want to appoint a manager as quickly as possible, we have some money available to strengthen the team and we are teeing up the possibility of signing players already at existing football clubs."

We understand Wolves are down to a shortlist of three Managers whilst one is current temporary manager Stuart Gray, the other is a manager out of work whilst the third is a manager currently in charge of a club outside of the Premiership.
