New Chairman Set To Join

WOLVES Chief Executive Jez Moxey has hinted that the board could be set to appoint a new chairman in "due course". The decision was made after Rick Hayward stepped down as the clubs chairman last week.

To say the summer of 2006 was a busy one would be a bit of an understatement. The Manager resigned, 12 players left and Wolves appointed a new manager. Then, as it seemed to calm down, along came the announcement that Rick Hayward (Chairman) and Paul Manduca (Director) had both resigned from the Molineux board.

Wolves quickly appointed two local business men in Kevin Threfell and John Gough but Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey has now admitted Wolves could be on the verge of appointing a new chairman.

In his programme notes from the excellent 1-0 against Ipswich Town, the Chief Exec - when talking about the board changes - says "As additions to the board, Sir Jack has appointed Kevin Threlfell and John Gough and there may be others joining in due course, including a new Chairman"

Former Wolves and England boss Graham Taylor recently admitted he was approached to be come part of the board however this would only have been as a director and not as Chairman.

Whoever the new Chairman is could be anyone's guess. However it's certain to again raise the rumours that former Portsmouth owner Milan Mandaric could be about to enter the race for control of Wolves.
