WOLVES legend Derek Dougan has died, aged 69. The forward scored 120 goals for the old gold and black and also represented Portsmouth, Blackburn Rovers, Peterborough United, Leicester and Aston Villa during his illustrious career.

Wolves legend Derek Dougan has died, aged 69. The forward scored 120 goals for the old gold and black and also represented Portsmouth, Blackburn Rovers, Peterborough United, Leicester and Aston Villa during his illustrious career.

Dougan made the switch to Wolves following a £50,000 move from Midland rivals Leicester City in 1967 and went on to claim a place as a true Wolves legend.

Making over 320 appearances for Wolves the 'Doog' scored over 120 goals and played a big part in the 1974 League Cup victory over Leicester City. He was also instrumental in helping Wolves gain first division status in 1967 and went on to become a sports pundit, most notably as a pundit for ITV during the 1970 FIFA World Cup.

Dougan is still known as the only man to ever score a hat-trick in European football for Woverhampton Wanderers and was a regular at Molineux.
