Surprise Exit For Winger McIndoe

MICHAEL McIndoe tonight made a surprise move to Championship new boys Bristol City after being deemed surplus to requirements by Wolves boss Mick McCarthy. The former Barnsley man joins City on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee.

McIndoe joined Wolves from Barnsley in autumn on loan before signing a permanent deal on the same day as Michael Kightly at the beginning of the January transfer window.

The 27 year old was a key part in the resurgent Wolves side which clinched a play-off spot on the final day of the season at Leicester City before being knocked out at the semi-final stage.

Morgan's Millions has seen an exciting summer at Molineux but the emphasis has clearly been on bringing players in to the club rather than showing others the exit. Matt Jarvis, Freddy Eastwood and Darren Ward have all entered Molineux and it may be one of those signings, Matt Jarvis, who confirmed McIndoe's exit.

The former Doncaster man made 27 appearances for Wolves and scored 3 goals. McIndoe also famously blew the chance of scoring a hat-trick by missing a 92nd minute penalty during the epic 3-2 home defeat to Birmingham City in April.

Speaking to the clubs official website, manager Mick McCarthy said "City expressed an interest in Michael and he likewise was interested in them."

"We've signed Matt Jarvis and also have Daniel Jones fit so I was happy to let him go. I'm pleased with the players we've got and the cover we have for that position. It was a good deal for the club and the player."

McIndoe was not an advertised name on the transfer list however Rohan Ricketts, Jemal Johnson, Thomasz Frankowski and Jemal Johnson all remain up for sale.
