Lots of wolves possession without testing the goalkeeper. Fulham reguster 1 shot plus a corner.
Another yellow to Fulham.

If our plan was to strangle them through possession, I would have thought that Jack Price would be a better bet in the middle of the park? Any reason he's not involved? Not aware if he's injured.

Well deserved lead. If we keep it tight at the back this'll be a walk in the park. They don't like our foward pace.

Re: Match Thread: Fulham V Wolves

They're having a bit of possession and we're letting them play in our half... concerning.

RVLP sounds very threatening when he's on the ball, and making some good runs to worry their defence. Top signing KJ! Let's have a couple more!!

Evening Ian, nice to see you've got company for once mate, felt sorry for you when it's only you and maybe wolverina. Looks like you've got a fair few people reading as well, 20 on site.

Re: Match Thread: Fulham V Wolves

They've forced a corner, RVLP took the ball their end and Dicko's shot has now forced our own corner. Doesn't sound a bad first half hour.

Re: Match Thread: Fulham V Wolves
Posted by: Ian.PershoreWolf (IP Logged)
Date: 20/08/2014 20:33

30 mins gone, Wolves 1-0 up

Starting to let Fulham have a bit too much possession. Stearman looking solid.
Still waiting for Dicko to have a shot.

2nd wolves corner coming up.....cleared.

40 mins gone wolves 1-0 up

Pretty poor from Wolves of late, actually nothing special since we took the lead.
Neither keeper seriously tested. Fulhams keeper looks poor and really needs testing out more.

Re: Match Thread: Fulham V Wolves

Claridge is as thick as two short planks, his comments on the football league show are embarrassing. That said, you get the impression that if jackett signed a couple of players we could push for a top 6 place ...it's a shame we can't and will just stagnate with free transfers and a loan maybe.

WM saying our defending has been very good, Lee Evans has played well and K Mac has been more involved. Sako and RVLP have impressed and worked hard for the team.

Promising start to be fair.

Re: Match Thread: Fulham V Wolves
Posted by: Dudley Wolf (IP Logged)
Date: 20/08/2014 20:59

There's more goals in this team - we need to be putting our chances away. Fulham haven't been great, but as we all know, that doesn't mean we won't gift them a goal. Dicko needs to be involved in the middle of the box and getting on the end of these chances we're creating.

Re: Match Thread: Fulham V Wolves
Posted by: Ian.PershoreWolf (IP Logged)
Date: 20/08/2014 21:03

Concerns of the 1st half...
Dicko hasn't had a shot
Evans not up to this standard
Dave Edwards wrong footed himself a couple of times, not his best game so far.

Positives,,,
Stearman solid
Batth dodgy to begin but grown into the game and crucial defending late on.
Van La Parra, looks up for it.

Doherty should've made it 2-0. Good work from Evans. ( yes, I did say that !)

15 mins gone 2nd half, still 1-0 wolves. Fairly 50/50 so far, substitute Demble looks dangerous.
Fulham shot just over the bar.

I ended up walking from London Euston to craven cottage a few years back during our premier league years...didn't look too far on the map and decided to have a change from the underground, took half a day to get there (Sm72) we lost 1-0 from what I can recall and it was probably doyles last decent performance for us ... maybe the 09/10 season

VLP getting a lot of praise off the boys on WM, they, like I, reckon that Jacobs on for Edwards should be our next move to put Fulham under more pressure.

Evening all
From Picardie in France!! I've been trying to listen to commentary on Player but the signal is cr4p so thought I'd get the benefit of Ian's commentary instead!! Sounds like a good game - I haven't heard McCormack's name mentioned much so far, but I won't tempt fate- he needs to make a name for himself with F'ham as this is his first start!! Our lads sound to be having a good night so far.

I'm wondering why KJ hardly makes any changes at all? If you're going to do it to give them a rest, do it around 60-65 mins. If it's tactical, the last 5 mins won't make any difference. This squad needs rotating and freshening up, there's a lot of younger players who'll appreciate the rest as the season goes on.

Don't know what he did with the pen, but as the automatic choice for penalty taking he can't half be erratic!!

Deserved this. Fulham look like relegation fodder under Magoo. Off for a beer then home. Night all.

Guess who won't be taking any more penalties! Still,it's a win - that'll do!

Sako tries to hit penalties too hard! I remember being sat at the front of the South bank last year, he smashed one against the bar, it went two thirds of the way up the stand in a game we were winning anyway (Preston?). The idea of "placing" anything is entirely foreign to him.

That's a good win against a team desperate for points, but we need to score more goals & stop missing penalties!!

I think Crawley would beat Fulham at the moment (that's not a knock on tonight's result). They sound f*cking awful. Magath's a total joke really.

I'll be there against Cardiff Ian, I might be able to chip in with the odd comment, but wouldn't back myself to be able to do the game justice!

I vote Tom, considering he left us in the lurch tonight.

I don't know why Magath was appointed in the first place.. a pathetic snivelling c.ockroach of a man with the kind of face that is just asking to be smashed in with a sledge hammer. He couldn't command the respect of his tv remote when pushing buttons let alone pro football players .. a farcical appointment. Looking at the three teams that have come down, despite all three squads being strong on paper, the managers are utterly inept and all look unsuited to management. The clubs didn't get relegated by being well run or well managed.

You're probably right Steway, a good win though after two straight defeats.

Hopefully we can carry on the trend this weekend Angry, if we can just craft some slightly higher quality openings for Dicko or A.N. Other, I think we've got a decent chance of a top ten finish. Obviously, if he gets crocked, we are well and truly @#$%&!

Striker position starting to look even more of an issue. Hope something is in the pipeline.

Yes Andy, a very good result. It could have been a really problem had we lost again tonight, considering the age of some of our lads. I'll take inconsistency in results if it means we don't go on a losing run.
