Wolves took on Doncaster Roves in their final pre-season game today. As before I was a sleep so have just seen how it went and will now pass it on. Wolves line up v Doncaster: Ikeme; Iorfa, Stearman (c), Hause, Golbourne; Henry, Edwards, Coady, Graham; Afobe, Dicko Subs:  McCarey, Doherty, Ebanks-Landell, Hayden, Deslandes, Evans, Price, Ronan, Rowe, Colclough, Van La Parra, Enobakhare, Reid.

Were Off

2 - Hause out well to block a Chaplow shot. Seems like the centre back slot is his for next Saturday.

3 - Golbourne's cross glanced not too far wide by Edwards. Golbourne has looked good in pre-season. Let's hope injury problems behind him.

6 - Former Villa midfielder Harry Forrester whistles a free kick wide. Chaplow then crunches into Graham with a good challenge.

8 - Decent effort from Henry who sets his sights from 20 yards and forces Thorsten Stuckmann into a save.

10' Penalty appeals but to no avail as Forrester goes down under a forceful challenge.

17 - Dangerous break - Afobe to Coady, back to Afobe whose shot is blocked. Edwards' shot then blocked too.

19 - GOAL!! Doncaster take the lead. Breathtakingly simple - a corner is swung in to former Walsall man ANDY BUTLER who nods past Ikeme. Too easy.

21 - Wolves almost respond instantly. A short back pass lets in Iorfa but Stuckmann blocks his shot.

21 - Goal!! Coady flicks Graham's corner on and there's BENIK AFOBE to tap home from about a yard out. 1-1

23 - Good grab from Carl Ikeme to claim a Wellens cross. This has livened up nicely.

To clarify, Golbourne's corner, Edwards' flick-on, Afobe's goal. Definitely Doncaster 1 Wolves 1 anyway. Another good test for Wolves, this.

26 - Good pace from Dicko who bursts into the box and then is blocked off. He's not too pleased but it wasn't a foul.

29 - GOAL!! - Henry sprays wide to Dicko and his low cross falls to JORDAN GRAHAM who can't miss from close range. 1-2

34 -Dangerous corner again from Golbourne eventually falls to Graham whose cross-shot flies wide. Golbourne replacing Sako on corner duties?

34 - And now Graham picks up the ball from deep before shooting low at Stuckman. Full of beans is the lad.

35 - Should be 3-1 Wolves. They're flying now. Stuckmann is lucky as he races from goal but Afobe can't find Dicko with pass inside.

36 - The Wolves shots keep on coming. Coady sees one blocked for another corner.

36 - GOAL!! - And it is 3-1! Three in 10 minutes for Wolves and a second from a Golbourne corner. This one's bundled in by NOUHA DICKO.

43 - Wolves breaking well from midfield through Coady and Edwards. Graham looking dangerous, Afobe & Dicko too, as ever. Good stuff Wolves.

45 - Slack from Golbourne who gives Williams the ball 25 yards out. Stearman does well to deflect the shot wide.

45 - GOAL!! - And from the corner ROB JONES beats Ikeme from about two yards. Very poor defending again. 2-3

HALF TIME Doncaster 2 Wolves 3

WOLVES Second Half: McCarey; Doherty, Ebanks-Landell, Hayden, Rowe; Ronan, Price, Evans, Colclough; Van La Parra, Enobakhare.

46 - GOAL!! - Oh dear. A shocker for Wolves and in pops NATHAN TYSON ahead of McCarey to stab home. 3-3 - it's a classic!

52 - Ronan cuts inside and play a peach through to Van La Parra, whose drive from a tight angle is palmed away by Stuckmann.

53 - Again that's lovely from Wolves. Doherty and Van La Parra with an excellent one-two but big Stuckmann saves from a tight angle.

56 - Skills from Colclough who steps inside onto his left foot before seeing a shot blocked.

61 - Again delightful from Ronan who chips through to Van La Parra. He plays to Doherty whose shot deflects not too far wide.

62 - WHAT A GOAL FROM BRIGHT ENOBAKHARE!!! And it's 4-3 to Wolves!!! He skips inside at least two challenges and then coolly slots home.

64 - And now Colclough fancies some, sending an overhead kick wide from Enobakhare's cross. Forget the real season, pre-season's where it's at. A thrilling 2-2 draw against Villa, now Wolves storming this 4-3. And still 25 to go.

68 - Ronan, Van La Parra and Enobakhare all involved now before Lee Evans sees a shot deflected for a corner.

72 - Dany N'Guessan, formerly of Rangers, Leicester and Millwall, replaces Williams for the hosts.

74 - Good claim from McCarey from a deep free kick. Game has gone a bit soft. Mind you anything would be boring after that Enobakhare goal.

77 - Excellent performance from Ronan who is replaced by Reid for Wolves. Jackett then keeps Ronan by the touchline for a tactical analysis. Van La Parra now on the right flank for Wolves. Reid alongside Enobakhare up top.

81 - Sylvain Deslandes replaces Price. He walked from the field so hopefully it's a pre-caution.

82 - Searing pace from Enobakhare who gets in behind down the left but can't find Reid with a poke inside.

90 - Reid should make it 5-3 from Van La Parra's cross but seems to misjudge it doesn't connect.

FULL TIME - DONCASTER 3 WOLVES 4. Quite the afternoon. And that's Wolves' pre-season done and dusted. Four wins, two draws, no defeats.

jacket has said rob edwards is doing a great job coaching the defence, were letting goals in right left and centre, 5 goals in the last 2 games. 3 bad ones again today, 2 from corners against the mighty dons as if we diden't have enough to worry about with our paper thin squad, but jackets said he's happy with how we defended, so that's ok then. the whole management team have said the squads strong enough, backed by morgan, there goner be in for one hell of a shock

Well the pre season garbage against mostly French no hopers and the like is over.. all roads lead to Ewood park gentlemen. Anyone bothering to go or is it a case of relying on Ians up to the minute thread to inform us of the ensuing carnage?

On the positive, we are unbeaten pre-season, albeit a phoney war! I think it is important as I always remember the disasterous pre-season before our initial pre-premier league season in 03/04 - it really did set the tone.

Again on the positive we are a force going forward and this was confirmed by a Villa mate of mine who reported positively about our attack during that friendly. Nevertheless, we are paper thin in many areas of the squad, including our foward line - god help us when we get injuries. I am truly alarmed by our lack of stengthening of the squad and it reeks of lack of ambition from the 2Ms.

It been said by others and I agree, we start a weaker squad starting 15/16 than we finished in 14/15 and I think that's pretty shameful. Neverless I'll probably be quite optimistic come next saturday v Blackburn, I just hope that optimism is not rooted on quicksand. I'm sure were it Redrow they would be looking at stronger foundations!

Up the Wolves!!
