Cardiff City V Wolves Match Thread

Last Seasons Programme

August 22 2015

Wolves head to the home of Cardiff City today for a live Sky TV game. The 5.15pm kick-Off will allow me time to get some sleep before getting up and joining you on here to discuss matters as they unfold.

Following Wednesday's disaster we are all praying that we can put things right today and start heading back in the right direction.

I don't think KJ was ever going to stick with Henry week in week out Ivy, & I suppose he wants to see what VLP can do on the right. I'm pleased to see Ojo getting a start as I'd like to see what he can do. No surprise to see Ikeme back in goal!

VLP has yet to convince me so far this season when he has come on. He has pace but his crossing is rubbish.

I've no problem with changes, especially after Wednesday, however VLP leaves me cold. He's one of those players who runs with his head down, a poor attribute for a winger. Add to that poor decision making, suboptimal passing ability and a shot like bambi then you begin to see my angst.

What can possibly happen? A VLP hatrick? LOL

Todays the straw that breaks the camels back for me, a wretched display again after a promising start. I had a fair few quid on wolves watching the start we made but once again another kick in the teeth so as I don't believe it's possible to make money betting on football, the club going nowhere and issues discussed on the other thread I'm calling it a day. I've been watching football for 30 years now and I'm bored to death of it quite frankly , all the best guys..I will let Badge or whoever take over the prediction thread and will quietly slip into retirement.

Afobe is a great prospect but is lacking in discipline - he's constantly coming too deep again. It's understandable, especially today, but he obviously thinks he has to be everywhere which isn't good.

Henry looked really weak, and we appear to be back to the hopeful long ball. What happened to possession football? If this was an attempt to put off potential buyers for Afobe, KJ has succeeded brilliantly.

Meanwhile Sako wins it for Palace; what bliss.

an angry wolf
Todays the straw that breaks the camels back for me, a wretched display again after a promising start. I had a fair few quid on wolves watching the start we made but once again another kick in the teeth so as I don't believe it's possible to make money betting on football, the club going nowhere and issues discussed on the other thread I'm calling it a day. I've been watching football for 30 years now and I'm bored to death of it quite frankly , all the best guys..I will let Badge or whoever take over the prediction thread and will quietly slip into retirement.

and you say you care angry, cause you do, your f#cked off just like we all are, its f#cked my sat and its f#cked yours to, but dont give up on it

Jackett to blame for the first goal, messing around with his goalkeepers means Ikeme felt he had a point to prove by charging out to try and punch the ball. Players like Dicko, Henry, Golbourne etc who are good players at this level but are in and out the side. I know he has his hands tied behind his back in terms of budget but the amount of changes he makes must have a effect on moral with half the team not knowing if they are going to be in the team one week to the next. Dicko is the biggest example, he'd be the first name on my team sheet, his pace and power is incredible so why is he the first to be dropped or subbed?

Have to say I feel Kenny's lost the plot. And he looks to have lost some of the players as well as performances across the pitch were turgid.

I was thinking that. KMacs face when he came off and Afobe running bluddy everywhere were symtoms and the general body language of the rest of 'um.

Let's look on the bright side - could it get any worse ......... ?confused smiley

I fear it will get worse before it gets even the slightest bit better. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised considering we've spent no money, but the handling of the situation with McDonald and now Ikeme/Mariannez has made it worse.

Omens are not good for Kenny. Unless it changes dramatically I can see him gone by November, especially since Morgan will need someone to blame.

We might as well sell Afobe, the guy is talented but he sure knows it, so just let him go to the Prem as it certainly doesn't look like he'll get there with us. I thought his dropping back deep into midfield was disrespectful, as if to say I'm far too good for you and wasted up front so I'll come back and show you how it's done. But then again who over the age of 40 and isn't a Wolves fan see's us as a big club? We are just a stepping stone to any good player but I still don't like to see that kind of thing irrespective of how Morgan has knocked any expectations out of most of us.

i agree at, jacket has taken the confidence out of the team,we all know we haven't got the best squad in the world but you've got to play your best players and he dident, and his changes were dident make sense to me ojo was not playing bad, but he takes him off and leaves vlp on(Sm164)

Going to see if Scotland can cheer me up and beat Italy.

Do you mean the rugby match? (Sm151)

England beat Scotland 2-1 in the hockey - just in case you're interested in that as well!
