I've exhibited more passion and commitment breaking wind than some wolves teams have shown in the past against Brighton!

So it's Edwards in central midfield again! GREAT!

Seems strange not doing the match threads,though doesn't sound like I've been missing much.

1st Wolves chance comes after 35 mins, Le Fondre effort cleared off the line.

La Fondre comes close with a header after a good centre from Henry

Described as a "full blooded challenger". Not sure it was two footed by Liam Rosiegnor has needed extended treatment. Ref took no time at all to decide to send him off. Mac coming on.

Referee has made some strange decisions today, and given us nothing

Wolves 0 Brighton 0 FT.

Regardless of playing with ten , a draw at home is relegation form and our keeper was man of the match by a country mile coupled with a missed pen for them.

Hard won point after Coady was sent off. Defence did really well this week, Iorfa and Henry had a good game, and Martinez saved us three points with his pen save, and confident keeping through the rest of the match.

You have to laugh , we all predicted Jackett would get flack due to Morgans lack of investment and here it is .. bunch of fcking morons [www.molineuxmix.co.uk]

Martinez was impressive and the back four was solid. Considering playing with 10 men for half the game I would say a point is decent.

Interesting to see what KJ does now that Coady's suspended for 3 games.

I think had Martinez not made so many saves including a pen you could make a case for a draw at home with ten men being decent but it's only blind luck we didn't lose lets face it.

Besides the PK I would agree most of his saves were routine but I am going to take a glass-half-full view of the defensive performance and game result.

At least the defence showed some bottle and were an improvement on previous games. How they would have reacted if Brighton's penalty had gone in, I don't know.

I couldn't be bothered searching for a link to watch it .. maybe someone can create a thread with any future links for games on it. Pete had one last season but it's gone. I can't comment on a performance I haven't seen, the general consensus of opinion was we were poor but if Timber and others say otherwise I can't agree/disagree.

I was only commenting on the back four and keeper. The rest of the squad (bar Afobe, who had no service) was awful. Shows how reliant we were on Sako to link play and offer an attacking threat.

A scoreless draw at home is nothing to shout about, even if we were down to 10 men.
The season is now moving towards a scenario whereby relegation is a greater possibility than promotion!

It's just dull more than anything.. hard to believe the crowd was over 20 000 today

What are peoples views of the sending off? I thought it was the right decision as did channel 5 and the views on the mix are split, but those saying it wasn't are trying to use a still from a video to claim otherwise. To use just one frame from a VT is not exactly the best source as you need to have a look at the next one to see the outcome.

Listening to the commentary on Player they were not surprised he was sent off after witnessing the tackle, and it is always easier to decide when looking at countless replays. The disappointment expressed by Kevin Foley - who was do-commentator today - was the speed with which the ref produced the red card, rather than taking a little
time to consider it.

It's more than possible the red card actually galvanised the team for once meaning it had little impact in the result but these things happen in football... look at Chelsea vs Arsenal yesterday when Costa should have received 2 red cards never mind one but life goes on

I went to the game and a couple of points.
1) I expected to loose today's game , as our form was crap.our defence looks shocking.
2) the keeper today was good. He dominated the area for crosses. He rescued the defence twice. Yes they were routine saves . But that was because the rest of the team worked so damned hard to keep Brighton out.
3) Brighton all game were rolling around demanding cards.talking to the ref , questioning all decisions. Pretty bad really.
4) Iorfa was man of the match , he kept their winger under lock and key.the card was for the winger running into him as he was frustrated his speed was not working. The Ref fell for it.
5) the two centre backs did allow a few chances , only one in the vital areas.one glancing header in the box was allowed.
6) the sending off was not received well for the amount of acting by the player and lengthy treatment , only for him to sprint on laughing when play started again. Which really with other antics of Brighton , fueled a feeling of injustice.


Overall , yes a draw to me was a good result.
We all wanted a win , but with 10 men this was a major ask.
It was major boost of confidence to the young defence.

Thank goodness we actually started with the wider formation and Afobe up front; hence we looked more balanced imv. I think we now need to give a few players a try in the wide positions as Ojo, who looks occasionally promising, has not tied down the position yet. Jordan Graham, Bancessi surely deserve a crack at the big time. There now seems an opportunity for Mac , Pricey and others to stake a claim to those midfield roles. Good result in the end with the keeper looking different class to his last home game, thank goodness; MOM, I thought.

It was mny first match of the season and frankly I wasn't that impressed. Obvioulsy I am basing my comment on the first half when we were even steven, player wise at least.

I agree about Ojo, I was expecting much more from him, however I couldn't say hand on heart he was any worse than our other outfiled players? I like Henry but was disappointed with his contribution and the whole midfield seemed out of balance, there again we gave the ball away so many times - as did Brighton to be fair. Iorfa looked good in the first half.

Ironically we were better when we were down to 10, probably because both the midfield and defence were much more disciplined i.e. 2 banks of 4. Nevertheless during the second half Lua Lua got around the back frequently (mainly v Iorfa) and it was our fortune that he couldn't put a decent ball in the box or the Brighton front line failed to really 'go for it'. How are they top of the table? Dunno - and I say that having discussed it at length with my Brighton supporting friend who attended with me. They're not exactly a thrilling side to watch.

Not sure wahts going with Kmac. I know it was difficult when he came on, but I felt his touch and control was often lacking? Agree about Martinez, not just for the penalty save(s) but the way he dominated the box. Very good stuff and definately Wolves MOTM - probably the most impressive player on the pitch on the day.

I am now searching for a similar type of site as I felt the contributors to the Teamtalk site were first class; lots of opposing viewpoints and mindsets, but rarely as puerile as some football sites can get. I can't stand the Express and Star for instance as it is often just a pointless slanging match. Unbelievably Disgusting and cowardly manner of business by Teamtalk. I do miss the characters from the old site, ATF, for instance whom I could rarely agree with, but argued his and many other Wolves' beliefs faithfully and staunchly.
