these are the games we've got to win, hope jacket keeps the same team apart from ojo starting on the left. price deserves to keep his place, plus i don't rate coady anyway

why do we have to win pete ? we aren't going up and unlikely to be relegated so it's irrelevant really.

Two changes to the Wolves team tonight. Have to tell you Pete that Coady is in for Price, and Ojo replaces Wallace.

Match has kicked off. Not many fans representing Brentford there tonight.

Team:

Emmy Martinez, Dominic Iorfa, Danny Batth, Kortney Hause, Scott Golbourne, Kevin McDonald, Conor Coady, James Henry, Benik Afobe, Sheyi Ojo, Adam Le Fondre

Subs:
Carl Ikeme, Matt Doherty, Jed Wallace, Rajiv van La Parra, Jack Price, Nathan Byrne, Bright Enobakhare

Apparently Bjorn Sigurdasson has also been seen warming up with the squad - Is he making his wasy back into consideration??

B'Ford make the first real chance, followed by a free kick just outside the pen area given by Iorfa. Comes to nothing after deflecting off the wall. Corner conceded and cleared.

Sloppy play from both teams so far. Wolves have had a free kick from each side of the pitch & wasted both through Ojo & Henry. Wolves failing to clear their lines in similar fashion to Sunday.

Afobe makes a raking and direct run, gets tackled on the edge of the pen area & fouled. Defender may have been booked.

Henry hits it low and straight into the wall.

Brentford score through a deflected shot. We're defending too deep again!

B'Ford 1 wolves 0

Brentford score the goal they deserve 17th minute according to The Wolf and Thommo

Defense far too deep. Not pressing. Poor

Good job Morgan won't pay the money to sack KJ...

Their goal was scored by Djuricin.

Not inspiring as yet. Not closing down, Brentford have plenty of time on the ball. Brentford doing the opposite

Better passage of play by Wolves which breaks down with a pass from Batth

Re: Wolves V Brentford

Wolves fans getting irritated by our play. Disorganised and sloppy so far. Thommo reckons we should switch to 4-3-3 to match them up.
Afobe & McDonald break & earn a taken by Ojo which comes to nothing

Re: Wolves V Brentford

B'Ford have had 59% possession so far. Ojo breaks into Pen area & crosses, but Henry is our only player in the area

Re: Wolves V Brentford

Henry makes another really poor cross after good work with Iorfa, possibly because there was no-one to aim for in the area. I thought most of Henry's crosses were pretty poor on Sunday.
Wolves are failing to do the simple things, and sounds like we could concede again without too much problem!

I wish someone would shoot davo and 68 years on the blog . Embarrassing score but no real surprise

Wolves fans boo as the half time whistle blows. We have been second best to Brentford throughout the half, apart from a couple of chances. I wonder whether replacing Price has upset the midfield a bit. Overall I think our lack of class players is continuing to tell.

that's what i was worried about, coady and mcdonald cant play together, we've gone back to playing the way before the two 3-0 wins, f#cking sh#te. coady is f#cking useless, get price back in again

Here we go again I missed the first minute but not aware of any changes.

Jack Price has been called out to speak with KJ. Coady takes a shot but no power behind it - unlike when he scored for H'field against us!!

Price & Van La Parra on for Ojo & Henry. Afobe to play on right, vlp on left & le Fondre up front, with Afobe Mac & Price in midfield.

Afobe taken out on edge of area & Tarkowski booked. Mac takes free kick but Batth gives away a cheap foul

Sounds better balanced now that we are also 4-3-3. Iorfa picks up his 5th yellow card with an unnecessary foul, so he will now be suspended for Saturday's game.

Afobe gets pulled back by Bidwell. Ref gives free kick but doesn't book him, because he's already on a yellow!!

Afobe has a glorious chance 8 yards out - our best chance of the night but he slices it over the bar. Iorfa limping. Not our night I don't think!!

3 minutes plus stoppages left. Wolves have failed to make the B'ford keeper make a save of any note again tonight. KJ has at least tried to change the shape and personnel but to no avail. Martinez makes a good save, then a mistake at the back plays in Hoffman to score Brentford's second. A really shite night to have to listen to the match!!

Or as a builder might say 'How many bricks can you remove from a wall before it collapses?'

I think we are finding out.

I'd say the biggest surprise has been the two 3-0 wins. I culdn't listen to the majority of the match but the comments here suggest we're back to our best v Brentford of all sides.

I thought we'd bounce back and win tonight. What do I know, so disappointed.

It would appear there weren't many following the thread either tonight, which makes it feel like a total waste of time. Getting to know how Ian feels most Saturdays!! Still, I've done my bit.

Fair play for the effort Cheshire but indicative of the way the club is heading these days..people have given up.

Hi Cheshire, I was following the thread, sorry I didn't contribute but I was too disappointed to do so. I am under no illusions regarding the ability of our side but I really did expect us to beat Brentford tonight.
What a shambolic performance.

I do however appreciate anyone who maintains a match thread.
