The first season of the Football league ended with Wolves finishing in a respectable third spot behind Aston Villa and the then mighty Preston North End. Wolves also made it to the FA cup Final but came out second best to preston who completed the first League & Cup Double. Two players got Hat-Tricks this season, Wood (In the 4-1 win over Derby) the first followed by Knight (6-1 of Walsall Town Swifts). The highest scoring game was a 4-4 away draw against Accrington (Not to be mistaken for Accrington Stanley who was formed three years later).
