Match Thread: Europa League - Crusaders vs Wolves
By Wolves
August 1 2019
Wolves travel to Belfast for the return leg of their opening Europa League clash with a hope of building on their two goal lead from Molineux.
Coach Nuno Espirito Santo claims there will be no complacency from his team as they attempt to put the Northern Irish underdogs to the sword. Crusaders defended manfully and in numbers in the first game which made opportunities difficult for Wolves to find, but they are expected to attack more in search of goals tonight, which may leave them open to counter attack. Ruben Neves left the field with an injury during the first game but he has travelled with the squad for tonight's game.

Afraid I have commitments tonight and cannot help with commentary as I won't even be able to watch it, but I hope posters will be able to share news as it arises.

One change to tonight's line up with the return of Raul Jimenez as Nuno fields a full strength team
Line-up: Patricio, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Traore, Dendonker, Neves. Moutinho, Jonny, Jimenez, Jota
Subs: Ruddy, Vinagre, Saiss, Kilman, Gibbs-White, Sanderson, Perry

Bit of pinball in the Wolves box, this following a couple of corners. A better delivery would have given us problems. Good pressure from Crusaders

beautiful twisting turning goal from Raul, just after a promising crusaders attack.

Fabulous goal from Jiminez!
Great play from Jota - but Raul really does well before unleashing!!
Looks like we’re off to Armenia

All a bit pedestrian so far though all three goals have been good to watch. Raul seems to have the goals in his sights so could expect some more from him unless he is taken off.
Adama is being quite disciplined so is obviously listening to Nuno.
Should be a straight forward progression now.

Jiminez going off, a worrying injury. Well any time any of our key players get a knock it’s worrying. Gibbs White to replace.

Vinagre for Jota
Saiss for Neves
67 minutes gone. Unless something remarkable happens, this match is petering out.

Well, well, well. A deep cross from Moutinho , a defenders header loops over the keeper. 1-4.
That’s the first thing that’s happened since Adama was in space, ran with the ball and fell over

Forsythe Own Goal!! Wolves walk away despondently like they just let one in rather than scored on.
A few half hearted hand shakes. Just checked the plan fares to Armenia; might give this a miss

Nuno celebrates his 100th Wolves match with a good win, although it could (particularly) in that second half be described as a ‘professional’ job! 1-6 on aggregate is good, though it could and should have been a great deal more over the two legs. We’me in the hat however and that is all that matters at this stage.
Very positively, a couple of great goals from our man Raul .... minus mask of course. Hope his knock is quickly run off and nothing serious.
Lovely to see so many Wolves flags in Belfast tonight too.
UTW!

Possibly Ivy but one of the ‘problems’ with Wolves success is that , with no season ticket etc, my chances of getting a ticket to any game is tough. Went to the Mol just once last season, for the Shrewsbury replay.
On the other hand all Premier games are live on USA tv, and as a foreigner I watched Crusaders for a fiver

Ouch. You’re very possibly correct looking at the whole 90 minutes Angry. Maybe it was just a dull patch in the game
