Wolves head to London today to face West Ham in search of a second away win of the season, and in the knowledge that they have come away with the points in the past two seasons.
West Ham have suffered the loss of their Manager David Moyes and two players this week after they were diagnosed positive for Covid-19 following routine testing. It remains to be seen how big an impact this will have on both their preparations for this evening's game and their team's performance.
Wolves will be without Marcal who suffered a calf injury in the loss to Man City on Monday which will probably see Ruben Vinagre step up again. Coach Nuno Espirito Santo has also stated that there are a couple of other injury concerns but has not identified them. Wolves fans will doubtless be wondering whether they will see new signing Nelson Semedo start at Right Wing Back, which will also allow Adama Traore to play in a more offensive role.
Tonight's game kicks off at 7pm and will be officiated by the hugely experienced Martin Atkinson.
It will be shown on BT Sport Channel 1, and this board will hopefully carry regular updates. Board members are encouraged to post their own observations for the benefit of those unable to watch it.

So.... Nelson Semedo does indeed make his debut in tonight's game at right wing back, with Ruben Vinagre on the other side. Daniel Podence was clearly the other injury concern as he doesn't make it into the squad. The subs bench also makes interesting reading. Line-up:
Goal has buoyed Utd and Antonio gets another shot away well taken by Rui. Good work through the middle by Adama but his pass to Raul is too close to Fabianski. Neto breaks and puts a cross in to Raul but he’s crowded out.
Given the investment in the squad and the continual wretched first half displays, there are seeds of doubt over our tactical shape and Nuno. How many games are we cringing over the first half display.. we have just signed the Barcelona first choice right back, a highly talented player in silva for nearly 40 million and look like a league 2 outfit
Semedo breaksinto the area and passes across but no-one there. Cresswell puts a good cross in ands good defensive header by Vinagre to deny Antonio. Shot by Antonio well saved by Rui before being blasted over the bar
A great pice of defending from Vinager then a really bad piece of defending from Saiss, beaten all ends up, shot saved by Rui and Hammers miss a great chance for 2-0.
Really important block by Joao to stop another Utd break, then Neto feeds Neves but his shot is disappointing and easily collected. One added minute to play
Half time and we trail by a goal well taken by Bowen.we have threatened in patches, but United are playing very confidently and aggressively & we are perhaps lucky not to be trailing by more goals.semedo doing well so far
West Ham 1 Wolves 0
Here we go again. No crowd but if they were there I doubt they would be singing We Love Ruben Neves.
Thankfully West Ham can't finish, much. Otherwise we would have an even bigger mountain to climb. Moutinho is not taking corners? Sign of things to come?
League 2 indeed.
Second half starts with no changes. Good break into the area by Semedo. Raul struggling to get on to the ball centrally. Fredericks pulls a muscle and is subbed, replaced by Ben Johnson - I’m expecting him to be rapid!!!
we're apparently trying out a new system tonight.. I suggest nuno scraps it before this embarrassment goes any further. We have half the portugese national team in our lineup and have been underachieving for the players now in our team for some time. We were very lucky to beat Olympiakos last season and frequently played like a conference side first half
CC gives an unnecessary free kick away close to our area bringing down Antonio & gets a yellow card NowAdama loses his rag & brings Antonio down. Neto breaks forward but overruns the ball
Adama is struggling to get past Masuaku tonight. Hehets a cross in this time & Joao wallops it over. West Ham break through Antonio, passes to Fornalls, his shot comes back off the post for Bowen
West Ham 2 Wolves 0
Adama gets the ball across but Raul struggling to get above their defence, & I agree with a Glenn Hoddle he needs to go through the middle, but Raul disagrees & replaces him with Fabio Silva
Turning this rubbish off, if these performances become a regular occurrence prob time for a change of manager. We are tactically all over the place with top quality players which is down to fosun investment not nuno no matter how people think otherwise. We don't change how we play from one opponent to the next - think Shrewsbury and lower league opposition. Our success has been based on to quality defenders and hitting teams on the break with Traore and Jimenez - there is no flexibility and it's like watching paint dry with the backward passing... fcking sh1te nuno again
Hi Folks, long time no see and all that jizz jazz..... I cant believe what I am watching ... terrible performance... against a poor team... we will be lucky to finish 12th this season IMO. Terrible stuff.
We really are struggling to get past the West Ham defence from either wing or through the middle tonight. We are pretty toothless. Semedo replaced by Ki-Jana Hoever. Joao replaced by Vitinha

Hello Stranger!! Good to you visiting us, even though you’ve chosen a poor match to do so!
Hi Cheshire, IVY , Angry etc.. hope your all keeping safe and well..... for me the alarm bells rang when we lost to stoke ... ok its only the league cup but we fielded a fairly strong team and lost to one of the worst teams in the championship... I can see Jimenez on his toes fairly soon...
I despair what has happened to Nevesks eye for a goal, almost every time he shoots It goes over the bar. Hoever shows some promise going down the right wing & crosses for Silva to earn a corner. Neves long range effort blocked.
WB Irish, it's certainly grim... this is probably the worst performance since Nuno came to wolves but we have been poor for some time if the truth be told.
Semedo is quality but selling doc was a huge mistake as defenders get used to playing with one another. That said, does anyone know what the tactics are tonight as we look like a pub side

Post lockdown, bar Everton last season and Sheffield United this season we have looked decidedly average, no consistency at all.
Fulham at home next Sunday, difficult to predict from here.
Good effort by Neto working his way into the area before putting his shot too high. We have benn impotent in our forward play this evening & have never looked like scoring. Noble & Haller replace Bowen & Antonio who have both had a very goo game.
Nevis and Moutinho are both thieving a living as footballers these days, I would consider replacing both or changing where they play as our " attack" bypasses them completely to the wings anyway and neither is quick or particularly decent tacklers so are as much use in the team as 2 chocolate teapots
Full time and we have been hammered!!
A very disappointing performance in the face of a very competent display by Utd. We had no clue how to get beyond their defence, Utd soaked up the pressure and took us apart on the counter attack which is normally our strength.
We are going through a period of change with several new faces an dat this point must hope they gel together fairly quickly, and we must remember this is early in the season.
West Ham Utd 4 Wolves 0
A side of complete individuals tonight, defending, midfield, attack all over the place ! No cohesion in any area.
As for attack, well, if you don’t score .... we all know that but please lets give it a go!
Dreadful Performance and easily ranks with that dire 1st half against Manchester City, perhaps we just made them look good.
4 goals versus West Ham, no words.
I agree Ivy, to be hammered by west ham is a major worry. I would say 4-0 is more down to a dire wolves performance than a good West Ham one. Its gonna be a boring season for us.
Gordon Bennett. Dreadful. First half, there was a couple of runs by Neto and Traore, but the only move worth a mention was right at the end of the half which ended with Neves' shot. I suppose it was excusable against Man. City but not against West Ham. If we had a m.o.m it was Patricio, simply because he did nothing wrong and all the others did.
On this season's showing so far, any of the back three could be replaced and that includes Boly.
I wonder whether Nuno might consider putting Dendoncker back into the back three and move Boly back over to the left of defence for a spell. We're certainly missing Jonny, so let's hope Marcal won't be out for too long. Otherwise I think it's going to take a little while for the new boys to gel properly - and that will probably involve extra training - but Fabio, Vitinha and Hoever did quite well after coming on. I also think we need to get Adama playing more through the centre, especially when we are playing teams with defenders bigger than our forwards like tonight!!
Dire performance in which very few of the players came out with any merit.
One of the few times I may give Match of the day a miss, couldn’t stomach watching that disjointed excuse of a team effort again.
Think we missed Podence tonight and Traore under performed, outshone by Antonio.
If this is a transition phase I can only hope that it is over soon.
Dire, miserable stuff.
Of course this is exactly what happens when you rejoice and throw a party after giving Nuno a vast three year deal; kind of like the Manager of The Month Curse.
Look on the bright side; nobody will be coming to poach our stars during what remains of the transfer window.

I must admit that I thought Vitinha did pretty well when he was on. Coming on for your first Premier League experience with 15 mins. left when you're already 3 down can't be easy. Although maybe it's easier being 3 down, I don't know.
There's no doubt something has to improve in the defence but for me Dendoncker should be in midfield. I know he seems to split opinion a bit but I would have him in every match.
I think we rely too much on crosses into the box hoping that Raul will manage to get his head on it and whilst he’s handy with his head surely we should be able to play along the floor on the odd occasion. I really struggle to remember the last time I saw us play a defence splitting pass, we must have greater variety to our game if we are to progress and the players will lose interest if our limited tactics fail to bring results. The best teams can mix things up a bit if the need is there, we are failing in this respect so things need to change. Podence brings us some variety so hopefully Silva, Vitinha and Semedo will do the same once they have settled in.
Traore would be better utilised playing more centrally and bothering the defenders rather than trying to cross from the wing, a tactic that the opposition now quickly nullify.
Interesting times ahead.
