After a week when Wolves seem to have figured in the news only from the perspective of how-hard-done-by Arsenal were at Molineux on Wednesday, we face the challenge of another Top Ten team in Leicester City.
Leicester are currently flying high in third place in the league, and will be involved in the knockout stages of the Europa League, so they will undoubtedly present a huge challenge to Nuno and his team today. However when we played at the King Power stadium in November, we were beaten only by the award of a highly contentious penalty for handball against Max Kilman, which would be unlikely to be given today. We also have a good history of results against them in recent years at Molineux including that extremely memorable day when Diogo Jota scored a hat-trick two seasons ago.
Both teams have their share of injury problems going into the match. For Leicester Jamie Vardy has missed a couple of games but is likely to be back in today's squad. For Wolves Nuno has admitted we have several problems, but he will not identify the layers involved. However it can be presumed that our left wing-back contingent including Romain Saiss are unlikely to be fit to play, so Nuno may need to once again deploy a back four.
The game will kick off at 2pm and will be screened live by Sky TV. Our referee will be the hgely experienced Martin Atkinson, which could be worse!! We could have a maverick man in the middle and his equally maverick man on VAR who - despite having their last red card overturned - proceed to send off a player for accidentally catching another player with his elbow whilst waiting for a free kick to be taken, and despite the opposition player clearly stating it was an accident!!!
Taxi for Mike Dean and Lee Mason!
This board will carry regular updates of the progress of the match, and board members are encouraged to post their own observations for those otherwise unable to follow it.

Good to see Jonny back, just hope that it’s not too early for him.
Boly and Podence join our ever expanding injury list.
Hopeful for this match, we are due to score some goals.
Great to see Jonny back at long last, and I think Nuno may play Donk in the right CB position to replace Boly with Semedo and Jonny in the wing back positions. We will need a good performance form Adama if we are without Podence today.
Actually I’m just watching the official website pre-match preamble with Thommo, Ikeme, Iwelumo and Andy Keogh has just made an appearance all the way from Australia! First time I’ve watched this, it’s pretty good, better than Sky or BT

20 minutes gone. We have the tried and trusted back 3/5 but so far today we seem to have a bit more fluidity and we aren’t giving the ball away so much either. Some positive attacking play and with better Neves finishing we’d be 1-0 up.
Barnes & Maddison link up dangerously & ball is put right across our area. Adama going up right wing falls over but given nothing. On the other side Neto breaks into the area for another corner. Wolves attacking well particularly through Neto but nobody there to get on the end of it.
Evans booked for a foul on Jose. Chaos in our box but Joao is fouled so free kick eases the pressure. Neves shoots from just outside the area and it’s handled by Choudary. Free kick on the edge of the D for Neves to take, but hit straight into the wall
Into one additional minute. VAR check if Semedo should have had a pen but no. Neves fouls Maddison & gets a yellow card. Half time whistle goes and no score. A very even match so far with chances either end.Neto has been particularly dangerous for us whilst Barnes & Maddison ar3 losing the main threat from City.

Ki-JanaHoever replaces Jonny at the beginning of second half. No reliable news re: Jonny but we hope all OK with him. Hoever goes into left wing back position
Semedo makes some strange decisions at times!! Vardy preparing to come on. Adama fouled on the break by Soyuncu who gets a yellow card. Free kick on right side for Joao to put in but cleared easily.
Iheanacho & Perez replaced by. Andy & Albrighton. Fabio Silva replaces Jose who has had minimal involvement in the game. Maddison kick Adama to stop him & gets booked.
Wolves on top so far this half but nothing to show for it in terms of shots on target. Great run up left wing by Neto cross to Joao & his turn to blast it over the bar. Awful finishing today
City get a soft free kick on the right edge of our area. Maddison to take it but well dealt with. We need to put pressure on their central defence as both of them are on yellow cards
City threaten around our box after very poor defending by NS but Albrighton’s shot is well wide. Game is really quite scrappy now with little quality from either team. Five minutes plus AT to play.

Adama having no impact now. MGW being prepared to come on bizarrely to replace Neto who is our only real threat!! Very good defending by NS against Barnes. Free kick to City just outside our area wasted but now they get a corner as we enter 3 added minutes. Vardy goes so close with a header.
Finishes goalless with a very valuable point for Wolves. A dreary game at times but we have to remember we were playing the team in 3rd place. Credit being given to Schmeichel for denying Silva a goal. We were pretty toothless up front but Neto & Adama created well today. Take the point

I think we edged the second half but Leicester definitely finished the stronger.
Much stronger in defence today, as a direct result of the 3/5 at the back, the pay off is not enough bodies in or around the box to do something when we get in good attacking positions. Very much the story of the season. Willian, then Silva feeding off scraps once again. Silva should have scored however.
The reality is whatever I think of our attacking prowess (we did look better today in the first 60-70 minutes), in the grand scheme of things, taking into account our terrible run of form, a point versus Leicester is a good result.
Onwards and forward now to two Saints matches. Cup up next!!
Given the standard of the opposition, it was a good point and performance. We matched one of the best sides in the league.
Dendoncker slipped into the defence well. The amount of possession Neves wins through tackles or interventions is immense, just wish he could find his shooting boots. Justin had the better of Traore for most of the first half but things turned as the match went on, only for Traore to fade out in the last 15 mins.
Jonny looked good considering he's been out for so long, hopefully he's not out for another long spell.
Neto fantastic in the first half but sadly the usual problems in attack continue. Good save by Schmeichel but Fabio shouldn't have given him the chance.
With the win against Arsenal and now matching Leicester, hopefully things are turning for us.
Evenly balanced match and a valuable point. Much better shape to the team and whilst we were scrambling on occasion so were Leicester and we presented a much better attacking threat today. Traore was effective down the flanks but I would like to see him pushing into the penalty area the same way that Neto does, I’m sure it would bring a few penalties if he did. Semedo getting better with every match and great to see Jonny back again. Watched Fabio very closely when he came on and his movement is very good, perhaps should have scored but only denied by Schmeicals boot and some of our players had opportunities which were wasted so let’s not be too harsh on an eighteen year old who I’m sure will become a valuable player for us.
Southampton next and they are shipping goals at the moment so let’s see if we can take advantage.

I’ve just caught up with that on YouTube Ivy and as you say a good listen. Good to see and hear from Andy Keogh again and to hear how popular he was in the squad, compared to the pelters he used to get on here, particularly from Angry!!
