Wolves welcome Marcelo Bielsa and his Leeds United team to Molineux tonight, in the hope of completing their second 'double' of the season, after the 0 - 1 win at Elland Road from a deflected Raul Jiminez shot.
Wolves fans will also be hoping for a repeat of the 4 - 1 defeat handed out to United in 2017 when they last met at Molineux, although that seems unlikely considering Leeds are already sitting above Wolves in the Premiership with a game in hand after an impressive return to the top level!!
Nuno Espirito Santo has already stated that Willy Boly, Daniel Podence and Raul Jiminez are unfit for this game, whilst Jonny is likely to continue his gradual return towards playing a full 90 minutes. So we could be looking at the same starting eleven as for the win at Southampton on Sunday. If so Willian José will surely be looking to put his mark on the game and open his Wolves account. Wolves fans will be hoping to see Pedro Neto and Adama Traore play with the freedom seen during the second half of the recent game, which led to a much improved and productive team performance.
Leeds have their own problems as influencial England midfielder Kalvin Phillips and forward Rodrigo are unfit to play, but Llorente will be fit to return. It can also be reasonably expected that Helder Costa will at some point make a return to the pitch he starred on for Wolves in the Championship.
The match will kick off at 8pm and will be screened on BT Sport1. Our referee will be David Coote (who isn't very popular with United fans after decisions made in previous matches) with Michael Oliver on VAR duty.
This board will carry regular updates on the progress of the game, and board members are encouraged to post their own observations for the benefit of those unable to follow it otherwise.

Leeds will come at us like a steam train so we will have to be on our toes from the off.
With the way Leeds play I can imagine that we will have chances so hoping that we can put some away, a game ideally suited to Traore I think and Neto and Willian will be able to take advantage.
Equally important that our defence keeps things tight but not a game for us to sit back and try to absorb the pressure, let’s get on the front foot ASAP.

Not keen on Friday night fixtures - should be reserved fro Torquay United and Southend!

Leeds can run out of steam too. The midfield is looking good after some mediocre performances of late. Bielsa's 'no compromise' style cannot just keep play the same each way every time without getting smacked by someone. Hope we are awake and go toe to toe early on.

Phillips was missing in midfield for Utd at Arsenal on Sunday and Strujk played as sweeper, but it didn’t work. They are playing the same formation this evening so let’s hope they still don’t have it sorted!

Started with Neto on the right wing & Adama on the left as per the 2nd half on Sunday. Neto goes up wing after good forward play by Adama but his cross is too strong. Bamford gets a corner off Saiss but well cleared.

Wolves are attacking whenever possible mainly through Neto & Adama. Jose takes the ball forward well & threads through for Adama but cleared for a corner. Ball cleared out to NS who tries from corner of the box but easily collected

Jose feeds NS but too wide for his shot which goes for a corner. Cleared - NS gets an arm in the face but is OK. Raphinia fires across our area but just too far ahead of Roberts.

No added time before half time whistle blows. Leeds present a definite threat but Wolves have defended it well, & Bamford has seen very little of the ball. We have made a lot of attacking runs through Adama, Semedo & particularly Neto but still pose little threat in the area. Not sure how many shots Jose has had since his arrival but it can’t be many, as he seems happier to past he ball than shoot.
A good game so far & hope we can do as we usually do in the second half!

As open a match as I have seen for a while.
Much better play by our boys, not afraid to take it to Leeds and much quicker interplay, backwards passes are at a minimum, thank heavens.
Need a goal to settle the nerves and take the initiative, Traore seems to be playing more centrally which is surprising and not yet effective, Jose seems to be getting the feel of the game and is looking useful.
More of the same please but with goals.

More of the same, my thoughts exactly. On that first half performance we have enough to win this for definite.

Second half kicks off with Utd. Wolves pressing well to stop Utd getting out of their area. CC tries a long pass to Jonny on the left but just too hard. Neves shots from distance but high & wide

Jose totally unmarked the area but Neto shoots high. Not happy, but perhaps unseen. Good forward play by Wolves but then Leeds break & get a corner put over the bar by Neves. Next corner put out by Roberts.

Superb chance for Leeds!!!!! Great Rui block ...... seconds later, thunder bolt from Traore hits the bar bounces onto the keeper and in the net.

Hand ball by CC gives a decent free kick opportunity to Utd. Cooper gets on the end of it & blocked by Rui for a corner. We are not defending these set pieces at all well.

Bamford puts the ball in the net after Neto lost it brilliantly but flag is raised. Only just offside though!! Terrific finish which had deserved a goal and created extremely quickly once we lost the ball.

Fabio Silva replaces Willian Jose, who sadly still needs a goal. RAN fouled on left wing & free kick for Joao to take. Played & lost into the corner by Neto - ridiculous with 3 minutes to play!! CC poleaxed by a Roberts shot.

Final whistle blows and a hard earned win after a very good game. The fortune up is ours tonight after an own goal following a superb shot by Adama. Takes us above Leeds for now. And we have done the double again.

That’s it, we’ve won. A great slice of second half fortune for the way we scored and the way we kept Leeds out. So happy for the 3 points but boy, that was a struggle in a match which could quite easily have gone either way.
A good entertaining match, we had the luck, but we certainly never retracted into the shell we have seen from our side over recent months!!
Who’d reckon was our MOTM? Patricio? Neto?

Perhaps we have found the formula that works for these players, much better fluidity, more of a goal threat and still a good defensive shape at the back. At last all the players seem to be on the same wavelength.
Hoping Marcal is not out again, he brings a good level of quality.
Nice cameo from Fabio too, looking more alert and ready for the challenge.

And the good news is that we don’t play now for 8 days until we play at Newcastle, so Nuno can get the lads on the training ground after a rest, and hopefully get some of our injured lads back.

Yeah, I’d agree - Rui MOTM tonight.
A great positive first half from a very good and entertaining Wolves performance and the second half we rode our luck and we’re hugely fortunate with a marginal offside (which was offside) which in old money was called correctly by the linesman.
Back to Rui, whilst it is easy to say we had our luck, a good goalkeeper makes their luck through the simple application of bloody good positioning - and their is no doubt in my mind that Patricio’s positioning was spot on for all of the chances that fell Leeds’s way tonight. Well played.

This isn't doing my nerves any good at all. Very good open game and glad to get a little bit of luck for a change ( although having such a good goalkeeper as Rui isn't really luck ). Like Lupine I was impressed by Fabio's 5 minutes. He looked up for it.

Oh right thanks chesh I remember a couple of headers he had in the palace game i just can't remember a shot he had, no surprise if I missed it as it was a game that nearly sent me to sleep early.
