Match Thread: Watford FC vs Wolves

Wolves travel to Vicarage Road Watford or their first game in thirteen days following the International break, desperately keen to get some goals and some points on to the board for this season
Following all the threats that he would not be allowed to play today having been prevented from playing in Mexico's International games, Raul Jiminez has finally been cleared to lead the line for Wolves today, and further his search for his first goals of the season. Coach Bruno Lage has had little time to prepare his full squad due to so many players being away with their international teams, but also thankfully has no new injury worries.
Willy Boly, Yerson Mosquera and Hee Chan Hwang will all be available for selection today, whilst Jonny and Pedro Neto remain on the injury list. Wolves will be keen to break Watford's winning run of ten home games which have included eight clean sheets and only three goals conceded, however the majority of those were during their promotion-winning season in the Championship. Bruno Lage will be more than keen to see his team break their scoring duck so far this season, despite the record number of shots they have achieved on goal in their previous three games.
Today's game will kick off at 15:00hrs and will be refereed by Peter Bankes with Simon Hooper on VAR duty, both of these are relative newcomers to the Premier League.
This board will endeavour to provide regular updates on the game and board members are encouraged to post their own observations for the benefit of those unable to otherwise follow it.

Watford 0 Wolves 1
Watford 0 Wolves 2
Four added minutes to play - looks like we’re on our way to our first 3 points of the season!!
Jimenez is flagged offside despite being in his own half shots and hits the post and is booked!!

Internet has been atrocious on all fronts including the OS commentary, and streaming has been extremely difficult and laborious hence poor updates on here. I am away next Saturday so cannot host but hope board members will rise to the occasion!
Watford 0 Wolves 2
Our constant pressing caused Watford all sorts of problems and they were never able to sustain any patterns of play. Neves looks reborn with this style of play and Semedo is proving his worth.
Hwang looked up for the fight and put himself about effectively when he came on, bagging a goal in the process, a very good start. Podence made a difference when he came on, his skill is outrageous at times. It is reassuring that the players seem to be very comfortable with the new style and the passing accuracy is much improved from last season as is the movement off the ball.
Hopefully this win will bring a greater confidence and further points.
Don't know what's been going on with the internet this afternoon. Everything's been terrible.
Many thanks for your efforts Chesh.
Well, at last we managed to score one of them, with a bit of Hornets help with the first! Obviously both goals were very scrappy finishes but who cares, perhaps that’s what we needed to get going … it was one of them matches we desperately needed to avoid another defeat and really needed the win …. Job done in that respect and off the bottom of the table.
Great to see Hwang Hee-Chan get the effective winner right in front of our fans, brilliant moment for him.
Still plenty of missed opportunities though, Semedo the biggest villain yesterday …. Should have had two.
Nevertheless the lads must now be properly full of confidence ahead of Brentford next week, it’s on BT isn’t it?
Thanks for keeping the thread going Chesh in clearly difficult IT conditions.
UTW!!
