Match Thread: Wolves vs Manchester City

Wolves home game against League Champions Manchester City has survived the threat to matches at this highly emotional time for the country following the death of her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth ll. The game will feature as the early kick off on Saturday, and will be eagerly awaited following the cancellation of matches last weekend.
Wolves fans will doubtless be keen to see whether their new signing Diego Costa will play any role in this game, or if it is a little too soon for him considering his lack of matches since last season. He is seen as an exciting recruit following the sad injury to Sasa Kaladjic after only 45 minutes of his debut match, and one that should certainly help in the search for goals.
Games against Manchester City have always been exciting and unpredictable, with both teams gaining points after some tremendous matches. Sadly last season saw a total destruction of our team at Molineux with Kevin De Bruyne starring with four goals. The undoubted star of this season's City team so far is new signing Erling Haarland, and the Wolves defence will have their work cut out to try and prevent him from furthering his already mightily impressive scoring record.
Wolves have not declared any injury concerns other than Kaladjic, so we can expect a full strength team, apart perhaps from Raul Jimenez who is frequently reported as suffering from a lack of pre-season preparation, and an apparent loss of confidence.
Our match referee will be Anthony Taylor with Darren England on VAR duty. The game will be screened by BT Sport and is scheduiled to kick off at 12:30pm
This thread is being posted early as both of your Moderators are away on trips this weekend, and may have limited ability to offer updates on the game. Subject to French Air Traffic Controllers screwing up travel plans, I hope to be watching the game in a bar in Crete alongside a City fan, whilst Ivybridge Wolf is touring in Northern England. Tomorrow I’ll be on the look out for a decent pub to watch the match, failing that any pub! We have a ghost tour in the evening, hoping the match itself doesn’t turn into another horror show similar to last season.

Wolverina - good to see you post! Shame the performance and match in general For the record, I watched it in the Old White Swan in York city centre.
We were utterly toothless and completely lacking in ideas and quality to stop Manchester City. The red card sealed the perfect day …. Not. Yes, they are a fine team and have a fabulous centre forward, but we used to give them a good match a couple of seasons ago, didn’t we? The worse thing was we were at at worst when we were 11v11.
Another nil chalked up then! Chicago, a shame that was the match you got to, but sitting in the Graham Hughes, at least it didn’t rain!
Finally - where on earth was Adama today?!! Couldn’t believe he wasn’t at least on the bench.
