Another weekend where we will be closely watching the other results.

A dreadful first half with so many stops and professional fouls particularly by Spurs. Referee is having a poor game. Costa off injured and Raul on

1-0 Traore !!!!!

Come on Ref. Blow the blooody whistle.

Excellent win, hopefully the Traore detractors will put a cork in it for at least a week anyway.

Massive win, couldn't really see it coming after the first half but we were much better 2nd half.
Rode our luck at times but who cares it's a much needed 3 points!
Costa injury didn't look good we may of seen the last of him in a wolves shirt.

Excellent game from Raul when he replaced Costa.

Hopefully he will be off in the summer. He was dropped for good reason

At least Adama secured us 3 points with his first goal in 18 matches. Well worth the wait.

Traore rarely , if ever plays as a striker loopy. How many league goals has Raul scored playing as a flat out striker this season? That's right..0 🤡 He will be gone in the summer. TBH he should retire as due to no fault of his own, he is unfit for purpose.

I too think Raul will be going after this season. He has served us well and I wish him all the best.

Jimenez had a very good impact when he replaced Costa. We thought Costa was lazy whereas Raul defended and attacked bringing out a good save from Forster and then of course his effort was parried by Forster to Adama to score. Just hoping Cunha - who missed a glorious opportunity created by Raul - can link up well with him again.
Matheus Nunes continues to be a frustration, giving the ball away and going for the easy option all the time. He needs to study Neves and see how he gets through the work and delivers the ball so accurately every week.

After the 1st half I was thinking the worst but Lopetegui came up trumps with the changes he made, certainly Jimenez and Traore but I also think Moutinho did well. M-o-m though, Neves again. Jimenez will probably be gone in the summer and Traore won't sign a contract so he may be gone as well but all that will pale into insignificance if we lose Neves.

What an utterly weird match, with an exhilarating finale and irrespective of the whole Wolves 90 minute performance, it was a magnificent and critical 3 points!!

I said weird ….. that first half was an absolutely dreadful 45. As bad as any single half I’ve seen for quite some time. We were rubbish, possibly Neves and Lemina (marshalling Kane well) the only players to come out with real credit, although the central two of Kilman and Dawson doing okay. It was disjointed, poor quality, no energy, just couldn’t sniff a pass or tackle. Just awful. Tottenham were clearly the better side but with so many stoppages and the ref seemingly being directed by Kane, the match never got going. Shame to see Costa injured but I’m afraid he did not cut the mustard whilst on the pitch …. A lack of energy, improved with the introduction of Jimenez.

Second half was indeed different with key tactical changes, Collins coming on for Neto and Adama for Lemina. I was shocked to see Lemina subbed but in JLo we trust eh?! the structural changes seemed to make the difference. But not instantly. It was a slow burner as a half, Spurs hitting the bar early on for a second time. We did get better, and with a solid defence, however for me the two outstanding players for energy, desire and shear hard work were Neves and Jimenez. Likely the best Raul has played since his sickening injury. They both conspired to tip the balance our way. Adama was decent too, certainly giving one his better performances of late, another real plus.

Neves had 3 long range efforts (about 70th minute ish) and it galvanised the team and fans. Jimenez put his shot in and Forsters parry fell to Adama, and the rest is history …. Excepting a high tension last 7 minutes plus injury time …. For me at least! Personally, I felt it was going to be another one of them matches we’d never score, the goal was heavenly and the proverbial roof lifted. Yes, an exhilarating and often unlikely win. Football is a wonderful game, fabulous stuff!!!

3 points in the bag, job done, we climb the table and Lady Luck provided a decent set of Saturday afternoon results …. Maybe bar Soton.

Toon next up, they’ll be hunting a win after a poor run. We can’t afford another a first half like today.

I’ll end with a question, sadly a bit of a negative …. We know he’s got ability but on current form, with matches like this afternoon and many others, poor passing, losing possession, lack of drive and desire, what exactly does Nunes positively bring to Wolves? Answers on a postcard. Maybe it’ll get better??

Any info on why Joao Gomes wasn't on the bench? I was wondering if he's going to get some run-outs for the U21s to improve fitness.

Not sure about him to be honest, would be interested too.

Did anybody listen to Lopetegui’s post match interview? Right at the end, he was asked why Daniel Podence wasn’t even on the bench, he answered “it was tactical” and with that, that was the end of the interview!! Is there an issue there?

Still exceptionally happy with yesterday’s win. Vital. The Wolves Nuno Old Guard absolutely central to an (at times) improbable but wonderful win.

JL talks a lot about the importance of the whole squad and the subs in particular making a positive contribution, so it could be down to Pod not making much of an impact off the bench lately.

Perhaps more likely was JL wanting more defensive options on the bench for this particular match.

I’ve just checked the squad on Live Score Risca and Joao Gomez shows as being on the subs bench

Oops. Must have got my wires crossed with Toti, Gomes then.

Nope - Toti was an unused sun too!! Podence was however missing from the bench Risca
