Match Thread: Brighton & Hove Albion vs Wolves
A Tough Ask
By Wolves
April 29 2023
After the delight for Julen Lopetegui of completing three home victories - with clean sheets to boot - he must take his team to the South Coast today for a considerable challenge against one of the stand out teams outside the Top Four this season
Brighton seem to have an enviable knack of recruiting good managers who suit their style, and unearthing good players who few of us have ever heard of, who go on to have a huge impact in the Premier League. Of course they even have a World Cup 2023 winner within they playing ranks!! Fans will surely recall the home game aginst Brighton in November when newboy Kaoru Mitoma gave Nelson Semedo a dog's life until the latter brought him down in the area and was sent off, before Wolves went on to lose 3-2. However things have picked up since then and since the arrival of our new management team, and perhaps we can be more positive about today's game, especially as - most unexpectedly - Brighton lost 3 - 1 at Nottingham Forest!
Julen Lopetegui has declared that there are no new injury concerns, so the squad for Tuesday's game are all available for this game. He has made changes for today's game by bringing Joao Gomes into a four man midfield and - at last - starting Pedro Neto up front alongside Diego Costa with Hwang and Cunha dropping to the bench. Jimenez and Ait-Nouri still fail to make it into the squad as does Jonny.
The game is due to kick off at 3pm and will not be televised. Our referee will be David Coote with Tony Harrington on VAR duty.
This board will hope to post regular updates on the progress of the game. Board members and visitors are encouraged to post their own observations and opinions and to join in the conversation - at any point.

The players should hang their heads in shame that was awful.
The fans need refunding out of the players pockets after that shambles.
The away form has been dreadful this season.
The villa will be licking their lips after watching that comedy show!
What a let down after last week. Appalling.
A joke of a performance but to be fair versus a very capable and thoroughly decent opposition. We should be aiming to emulate them. In amongst the chaos some very good goals.
Not an easy watch at all, lovely bloke sat next to me but as he left he wished me all the best and hoped we stay up so they could collect another guaranteed 6 points next season. Ouch. Harsh but fair. Completely, utterly, totally 2nd best.
I was miserable that I thought this was the worst defeat I’d seen as an attending Wolves fan. In fact It depressed me somewhat, so imagine my surprise and a touch of morbid happiness to remember I’d been here before , that is the 0-6 many years ago at home v Southampton. We could have won that one all those years ago ….. not today, we were shocking.

Regarding JL, we were an inconsistent team before he came , and an inconsistent one now. There haven't really been any improvements..fluke wins over palace and beating Lampards chelsea who couldn't beat an egg arent evidence of anything. We will finish next season like this, mid table incapable of winning anything and drifting along taking the sky prem money.
