All square so far, but Wolves have shown well so far. Eze and Olise have each had a shot but both were wide.

Typical left footed shot from the edge of the area by Olise to give Palace thelead. Superb goal.

Half time and despite some good forays forward Wolves as usual have threatened very little in the box exept for a Doc headsr which came off the bar. Palace took the lead through a typically fabulous shot from Olise. The second was a shot by Clyne which came back off the post to Mateta who had the easiest task to score.

Hopefully the day will improve if Israel 🇮🇱 won Eurovision. Not a big fan of the competition but the anti semitic @#$%& on the left need silencing and hopefully this is just the ticket. I think this will be the first time I have voted for any country in 30 years.

All over and another disappointing afternoon for the home fans. Wolves started well, but the Palace front 3 were too good for us each getting a goal. We tried hard in the second half but still lacked the killer touch in the box. Oh well we have Liverpool away to look forward to next.!!!

I think there will be some interesting moves with players coming in and unfortunately some good ones leaving. Let's hope that our scouts manage to find some talented players out there & we can afford them.

Thank you for the congrats Angry - it’s nice to win it again. However I really don’t get your caveat. Whilst I would agree VAR has had a dreadful impact on our season, surely it affects us all taking part?! The fact that I have correctly forecast the outcome of five matches this season has made a huge contribution.to my total, plus quite a few where I have corrected forecast a win.
You put up a spirited fight towards the end - let’s see where it all ends up next week eh.

Well for eg, the Kilman goal which was disallowed gave you 3 points and took 2 from me. That's a 5 point swing. It's the same for all of us of course but it does become virtually impossible to predict anything given these added factors. I think it should be 2 points for a correct outcome with just 1 more added for a correct score personally. I've consistently said that as it becomes more a guessing game with so much emphasis on the correct score. Predicting home/draw/away win is hard enough as it is 🔮

Infact a 6 point swing as it was 3 points off me not 2. FCK VAR 🖕☠

We got what we deserved again today absolutely nothing.
yet another poor performance and really disappointing how the season has fizzled out.
Just goes to show how Dawson holds that defence together, they have been shocking since he got injured.
A lot of work to do in the transfer market but oneil didn't fill me with confidence saying there won't be much coming in if a top player isn't sold, that's not a great thing to say to get fans renewing their Season tickets.
The football has been awful the last few weeks and it's not all down to injuries.
Fosun have been great for this club but fans want to see a bit of progression and it's not happened now since nuno left.
We will see what happens but I for one am bored of the jeff Shi excuses, if fosun want to stand still and be happy finishing just below mid table every season maybe it's time to sell the club to someone who wants to kick this club on.
Just my opinion maybe not everybody will agree with it.

Well done Cheshire, it seems that I squandered my early season lead, again affected by VAR.
A poor end to the season and no real hope of gaining any more points when we visit Anfield. I fear that we will start next season with a squad stripped of our better players and although GON will have the advantage of a preseason it will be a more difficult period ahead of us, with the spectre of lower table struggles all we have to look forward to. Although we are no doubt grateful to GON for what has been achieved this year I don't seem him as the manager to lead us forward effectively.

GON gets a C for his performance this season, acceptable but don't understand the incredulity from Cheshire when anyone thinks he doesn't deserve a new contract. He doesn't deserve to be sacked either.

Fosun get a B for their time here, they have significantly invested, but there are no signs of improvement and the overwhelming feeling of " Is this it" as each season is just the aim of finishing mid table again. I think we have simply reached the ceiling of what we can achieve as a football club - back in the championship there was unfulfilled potential where we were underachieving but we have hit the ceiling. The only thing Fosun can be objectively criticised for is failing to improve the stadium which they have reneged on

Personally, I like GON and would be happy to see him stick around and get some support to develop a squad himself, having said that with premier league financial equality more like a see-saw with an elephant sitting at one end, then constraints on spending will impact on any success. Regards a limit or ceiling, then we all desire something better and something more, a cup or Europe or a return to glories of yesteryear but (and I’ve said this elsewhere before) we remain in a similar position to where we were when I started going …. Top division mid table. Were that the driving force to support Wolves and all the intervening trials an tribulations, you’d have thrown in the towel in May 1976!

The great thing about GON is the way he has worked with what has got, with many media experts predicting relegation, this side has given us some entertainment and some pride, despite a disappointing end to the season. The main concern has been the size and depth of the squad, fully exposed without GONs ability to select key injured players and whilst there’s been a significant focus (rightly so) on the absence of important attackers, I have always believed Dawsons loss has been felt badly. So a bit of research identified these couple of sentences from The Athletic … “With Dawson starting, they have conceded 1.5 goals on average, picked up points at a rate of 1.4 per game and amassed a win rate of 40 per cent. Without him, those numbers change to 2.2, 0.9 and 25 per cent respectively”. A terrible loss from the Wolves defence.

Back to GON, another quality has been that with all the issues we had when he was appointed, he’s generated a very impressive relationship with the supporters, with honesty, pragmatism and realism and Molineux has undoubtedly responded in kind and it’s easily observed. Not every manager can forge that connection and we’ve been luckier than most having previously experienced with Nuno but lost with Lage. In short for me, GON has been a positive force for good this season and long may that continue. Who knows what we and he could achieve with GON getting effective Fosun support and a bit of cash, though noises indicating the prospect of sales prior to purchase in the summer obviously raises eyebrows.

On the Palace match, very disappointing indeed. Three well worked goals carved us up. I went to see Palace at Spurs in March. They were awful and pretty sterile up front but for a wonderful free kick goal from Eze. Mateta loped around like a cart horse . How times can change. Sounded like we took it to them a bit second half but not the ending at home we wanted. Naturally on such runs and our last match being the final stand for Klopp at Anfield, many won’t give us a prayer. Keep the faith, you never know!!

Oh, and Essington, I had the pleasure of driving through Essington on Friday evening . Looked pretty lively at the pub on the main road …… The Minerva????

Yes ivy it is the minerva, the only pub in the village that I do have the odd tipple in now and again.
There is also a working mens club just round the corner but like a lot of these clubs around the country they have fallen on hard times and it's not what it used to be.
There used to be some Great live bands play there at one time but they are very rare now so I do not go in there so much these days unfortunately.
