In a season of gloom, what a treat Friday night was for Wolves fans, it’s really is always great to beat the Villa. And deserved! Wolves rode their luck a little, however they out fought Villa in desire and determination in all areas, leaving the Lions mortally wounded with the late Rodrigo goal, sealing the deal after a fine goal from Joao! Terrific! Today, Liverpool are up against Wolves at Molineux for the first time this week (they are here again in the cup on Friday) after a 5-2 home victory over West Ham on Saturday, the Reds just getting going with three wins in a row. Wolves, once again, will be massive underdogs with Liverpool at odds of 1/2 for the away win. It has been quoted before, however remember Wolves and the Steve Mardenborough winner in 83/84 …. it can happen!
Apparently, Wolves have a fully fit squad, Toti returned in the Villa match which was a positive performance and tonight Hwang is back from his calf strain – likely to start on the bench should he feature. The starting line up won’t be much different to how things were at the kick off versus Villa, so many deserve their opportunity to play again tonight. Joao (wonderful), Andre, Armstrong, the Bueno’s, Toti, Sa, Mosquera all played well, even Tchatchoua got stuck in in the second half when he realised (or was told) that his pace had Villa worried. Is he becoming a bit of a Mohammed Camera type of player for Wolves …. Great ball in for Joao’s goal. A word on Mosquera, who seems to divide opinion Mosquera is definitely an irritation to our rivals … and possibly us on occasions! Personally, I think he has moments of total liability as a defender and I’m very unimpressed with his constant dying swan act every time he gets tackled, conversely he travels well with the ball, even gets into excellent advanced positions and he is a constant pain in the neck for the opposition wherever he is on the pitch.
The three points gained last week means we are now on 13 points, a paltry total though with significance as Wolves have now overtaken Derby’s awful 2007/08 season when their gained just 11 points. Looking upwards, with just nine league matches to go, here are the next targets under 20 points, note the Villa total of 15/16.

Good luck to the lads tonight, against the odds, all Wolves supporters will be hoping for some kind of repeat of the last performance, though surely, we will be facing a tougher and better side tonight.

We hadn't even had a shot after 75 minutes.
Fantastic win, we rode our luck at times but thought the defence was outstanding tonight.
Just a shame this fighting spirit has come to late, but its nice to see some positive performances at last.
Should be fun in the cup friday now.
Only three points behind mighty Burnley.
Heard the winner driving home from St James Park (Exeter 1-1 Burton) and went wild!!
Sounded like another gritty, resilient team performance again, hope it can be repeated on Friday evening ! A great night under the lights today for the fans.
