WOLVES Manager Dave Jones has revealed that he nearly had to play substitute Goalkeeper Michael Oakes at left-back today as Wolves injury worries took another turn for the worse. On the pitch, the performance was again way below par.

Wolves Manager Dave Jones made a shock move in his team selection as Joleon Lescott played his first game since the Play-Off final in 2003. Lescott may have not been fully fit, but the lack of defenders meant that if he was happy to play, then he'd be starting.

Wolves' injury list is growing by the game as Matt Murray, Lee Naylor, Kevin Cooper, Mark Kennedy, Joachim Bjorklund, Carl Cort, Vio Ganea, Dean Sturridge and George Ndah were all ruled out of the game. Mark Clyde and Kenny Miller both finished the game injured whilst Paul Ince and Colin Cameron had to start the game carrying knocks.

"Yesterday Jo was no where near in contention for a place in the starting line up but Lee Naylor failed a late fitness test and Kevin Cooper was throwing up all night," Said Jones.

"I asked Jo if he felt ready and all credit to him he said yes. He won't play on Monday but we have to hope Nails will have recovered from his back problem. We are also concerned about Mark Clyde who has a calf strain. Kenny Miller is suffering from the same."

The game itself was another one to forget. Wolves started the game brightly and Shaun Newton took advantage of a poor Burnley pass-back before rounding Coyne to put Wolves ahead on 15 minutes. However Robbie Blake evened the score's out less than ten minutes later when he capitalised on schoolboy type defending from Wolves and coolly tapped the ball past Jones in the Wolves goal on the 24th minute mark.

Wolves then had to withstand intense pressure for the remainder of the game, but Wolves Manager Dave Jones had words for the referee at the final whistle.

Jones was furious with a decision to caution former Wolves man Mo Camara for an apparent head butt on Shaun Newton and was incensed moments later when Kenny Miller appeared to be tripped in the penalty area.

"Mo head-butted Newts but the referee and linesman just booked him for aggressive behaviour. The same punishment you get for taking your shirt off and celebrating a goal." Said Jones

"I've got a lot of time for Mo Mo but he knows he was lucky to stay on the pitch. It needed a big brave decision but the referee got that and the penalty appeal wrong."
