INJURY hit Wolves tonight won away from home for the first time since the away trip at Norwich City prior to the Play-Off final win of 2003. It may be only the Carling Cup, but the poor run had to end somewhere. Rochdale 2-4 Wolves.

Wolves tonight beat Rochdale 4-2 and moved into the draw for the next round of the carling cup, but Wolves were made to work incredibly hard for their win as a determined Rochdale side put in a brave, hard and battling performance.
From a Wolves prospective the little said about the first half the better. The defence, which included 18 year old Keith Lowe, who made his first ever appearance for the club, was non-existent in the as Rochdale raced into a 2-0 lead.
Grant Holt gave the home side the lead after just four minutes before Tait directed Cash's cross past Oakes on the 25th minute mark. Wolves showed little composure anywhere on the field, especially in the striking department as Leon Clarke missed a guilt edged chance shortly after hitting the post from an acute angle.
However Wolves Skipper Paul Ince gave Wolves a lifeline as half-time approached with a stunning first time shot with his left foot from 40 yards which flew into the top corner of the net.
Wolves looked a different side after the break and pulled goals back through Leon Clarke and Kenny Miller, before Andrews added the final touch.
Clarke was quickest to react from Cooper's spilt shot and Kenny Miller scored a brilliant solo effort as he weaved his way through the Rochdale defence before slotting the ball home past Edwards.
Whilst Wolves were in complete control, Keith Andrews scored from a low drive aided by a slight deflection from the edge of the area.
Wolves long, long, long wait for an away win is over.
