WOLVES Manager Glenn Hoddle started his reign as Wolves manager with an encouraging, if not spectacular point at Watford. Seyi Olofinjana scored his third goal in four games to earn Wolves a deserved point.

WOLVES Manager Glenn Hoddle started his reign as Wolves manager with an encouraging, if not spectacular point at Watford. Seyi Olofinjana scored his third goal in four games to earn Wolves a deserved point.

Hoddle made just one change to the side from Tuesday's inept performance against Millwall. Youngster Keith Lowe replaced Mark Clyde at right back in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation which implemented a diamond in the midfield.

Wolves were one down after just three minutes, but Olofinjana's volley cheered up Hoddle. "I think we were a bit slow to come out of the blocks and we were disappointed to concede inside the first five minutes but the players responded well," Said the former England boss.

"We had just two days to work on this match and I'd told them how I wanted to play on Thursday. Maybe one or two were focusing on that instead of just getting on with doing their job. But, we pushed hard and by half-time we had them on the back foot.

"We hit the post and there were a few skirmishes and I am pleased with how we battled hard."

Wolves played the ball well and controlled the game for huge spells in the first half. Several players were playing in new roles. Some adapted better than others, but Hoddle admitted he needed some new men.

"We do need to strengthen and I will have to do that by bringing in a few loan players." he said. "Over Christmas and New Year I'll take a good look at the squad and then see which areas need work."
