Adams And Hoddle On Todays Game

WOLVES boss Glenn Hoddle said that Wolves play like a Premiership side when they are with the ball but he was furious that, yet again, Wolves have failed to put "teams to the sword". It's the Managers reaction from the defeat to Coventry City today.

Wolves Boss Glenn Hoddle:

"I thought Christmas was December 25 not January 2. We gave them two outrageous goals. You can't do that and expect to win matches. They were ridiculous. Do that and you give yourself a mountain to climb.

  "They all look too anxious in front of goal. It's not just one person it's the whole group. I am fed up of saying we were the better side. I've never known a team to dominate like we do and then give away goals like that. We need results rather than good performances. If you have 28 efforts on goal and don't score that's not good enough. The players need to start looking at themselves.

 "We played Sheffield Wednesday in a pre-season friendly and battered them yet the score was 0-0. Nothing has changed. On the ball we are as good as many sides in the Premiership but we must put teams to the sword."

Coventry Boss Micky Adams:

"It's a results business and although I'm sure all tomorrow's headlines will be about how well Wolves played, from a team point of view and from a defensive point of view I thought we were magnificent,"

"You have to win games of football, and when you don't people don't want to hear the excuses."
