Wolves confirm interest in Polish star

WOLVES Manager Glenn Hoddle has admitted he is interested in signing Polish International Striker Tomasz Frankowski, but the Wolves boss admits he is just one of several players Wolves are monitoring.

Reports from Spain yesterday carried quotes from the 31 year old Polish International Striker saying "I have spoken to Glenn Hoddle and he is keen for me to help Wolves' chances of promotion by scoring goals"

Today the striker has said that Wolves have offered him "20% more" than he is currently earning at Spanish side Elche and that he has agreed to the offer made to him by Glenn Hoddle, but the Wolves boss has today said there is nothing to report...yet.

As well as admitting the interest in the 31 year old, Hoddle also admitted to the official website that Wolves have been keeping tabs on another eight strikers.

"(He's) One of a number of people we have been keeping tabs on." Hoddle said of Frankowski. "Four are from abroad and another three or four are from Britain. We've been looking at them over the last six or seven weeks but there's nothing to report. There's no news on anybody at the moment."

MEANWHILE Wolves have today been linked with Lee Hendrie and Dundee United defender Mark Wilson. Hoddle did not comment on the speculation linking him with a loan move for Hendrie but said about the Wilson speculation "I'm surprised this has come out now because Gordon (Chisholm, United manager) called me four or five weeks ago about the lad. I said I would call him back if I wanted to act on it but I think maybe they are using it as a bargaining tool."
