Wolves in for Prolific Icelandic Star

AS Fans start to get restless with the lack of news regarding new signings and with the deal for Polish star Frankowski dragging on and on, Wolves fans now have another target to get their teeth into.

It today emerged that Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle has been keeping tabs on Icelandic International striker Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson and the reports suggest that Wolves could be ready to make a swoop for the prolific striker.

The Swedish daily sports paper Hallandsposten reports that Hoddle has been tracking Thorvaldsson for some time, but the strikers impressive goal record has also seen him attract interest from other English clubs, with Everton believed to be just one of his many admirers.

The striker currently has just one year left on his current contract and is believed to be seeking a move away from Sweden and his current club Halmstad during this January transfer window.

Halmstad only survived in Swedens top division by the skin of their teeth last season and Thorvaldsson's 29 goals in just 36 league appearances went a long way to helping them survive.

The 23 year old has scored an impressive 16 goals in 16 games this term and can play comfortably as a loan striker. Fluent in English and with Uefa cup experience (having scored 3 times in his 5 games in Europe) it is believed Halmstad would require a fee in between the region of 500k and £1M.
