Elche president resigns in protest of Frank sale

WOLVES are in talks with Thomasz Frankowski after the club finally agreed a fee with Spanish side Elche. The deal angered Elche president Ramon Sanchez so much that he has resigned in protest of the sale.

Wolves officials were this afternoon locked in talks with the 31 year old Polish International after the Spanish second division side finally gave in to the persistent negotiating by Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey.

The fee is currently unknown but sources in Spain suggest a deal of a first payment in the region of £1.3M which could rise to as much as £1.7M depending on Promotion, goals scored and appearances.

During a press conference earlier today an Elche spokesman said "We have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton," an Elche spokesperson confirmed.

"We are satisfied with the offer the English club have made for the player and we have allowed Frankowski to begin negotiations to agree terms with Wolverhampton."

Rumours in Spain suggest that Elche are more than £7M in debt, but Elche president Roman Sanchez refused to allow the Polish International to leave. However the money offered by Wolves has tempted the other board members to accept the offer, resulting in Ramon Sanchez today handing in his resignation in protest of the deal.
