WOLVES officials and Police Chiefs will be trawling through CCTV tapes this week in a bid to pinpoint the culprits of the half time riots which caused a 15 minute delay during the Chapionship Match at home to Cardiff CIty on Saturday
Molineux is installed with one of the most high-tech CCTV systems in English Football. Thousands of cameras are able to follow every fans movements whilst inside Molineux Stadium and can even pin point "supporters" in single seats and follow their movements through the ground and then through the city using the Wolverhampton Councils CCTV system.
Wolverhampton Wanderers officials will trawl through the tapes over the next few days and will report the findings to the Police and the Safety Advisory group later this week,
Cardiff City Officials today condemned the fans who started the riots after City Fans were abusive to the catering staff inside the concourse area of the Steve Bull Stand.
Reports in the media today suggest that Cardiff fans may be banned from future games at Molineux. In a statement released by the club today Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey said "We have sympathy with the law abiding Cardiff City supporters who were caught up in the unfortunate disturbance and we fully support Cardiff's desire to see those involved in the disorder identified and bought to justice for their actions. We will help with this where ever we can."
"Wolverhampton Wanderers has an exemplary record of safety management of supporters inside the stadium - officials cannot recall the last time there was any trouble of this nature inside Molineux.
"We will not tolerate the supporters of any club, including our own, participating in any form of unacceptable behaviour and will continue to do what we can to ensure that Molineux remains a safe and enjoyable venue for supporters to watch football."
Cardiff City appear to have been unhappy with the majority of police on duty but it is understood that Police inteligance may have suggested a possible disturbance by Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion fans who's game at Birmingham ended an hour before the game at Molineux kicked off.
