That's more like it!

A crowd of 18,506 witnessed an entertaining game which saw WBA and Cardiff City share the spoils. After the Baggies took an early lead and were denied a second by Neil Alexander the home side took control of the game and equalised through an excellent headed equaliser by Riccy Simeca at the Canton End.

John Hartson got a rough ride from the home fans and was never in the game although his name did reverb around the packed stadium for most of the ninety minutes. A thoroughly entertaining game and lets hops some of the casual fans turn up on Staurday for more of the same!

David Jones the Cardiff Manager summed things up after the game - "That was a great advert for Championship football and we had them rocking for a while. If that doesn't bring the crowds back then nothing will. We gave West Brom a good game tonight and this was a yardstick for us as we matched them all the way. I thought there was power and pace in our play and the movement all round was good. We pounded them for 80 minutes but then they used their experience to take the sting out of it as the game drew to a close."
