Cardiff Are Top Of The League

20,000 fans saw Cardiff return to the top of the second flight of English football for the first time in 36 years. The game had everything, goals, great saves, crunching tackles and some unsavoury scenes in the away end. Has Christmas come too early?

Cardiff City have now registered their best ever start to a league campaign, with four wins and a draw out of the initial five games. In addition we've played in those games some of the pre season favourites for promotion - Leeds Utd, West Brom and Birmingham City. These are heady days at Ninian Park but it is still very early in the season and fans must not get carried away.

Eight fans were arrested during and after the game at Ninian Park, the trouble was confined to the away supporters it appears.
