Sam Hammam is leaving after six years.

It now has been confirmed, Chairman and Owner of Cardiff City Sam Hammam is selling virtually all his shares in the club and leaving with almost immediate effect. Peter Ridsdale will become the new Chairman and it appears money from London based institutions will finance the deal.

Sam's reign has been a roller coaster ride over the past six years, and whatever people think of him and his outspoken ways the club is in it's highest position for 35 years.

As a football website it is not for us to comment on financial matters but the club has built up some sizeable "loans" in achieving two promotions under the tenure of the Lebanese business man.

The stadium ( when will it ever happen ? ) obviously forms part of the deal, and once again more dates are being banded around. However we've had so many false promises over the past six years in this regard, not many fans will beieve it until the JCB's move in!

Good luck Sam, and thanks for the memories.
