The Bluebirds made it seven points from three consecutive away trips after a comfortable 2-0 victory over mid-table Brentford yesterday at Griffin Park. Scott Young's 51st minute header put City on their way to their first victory at Griffin Park since 1993, with Robert Earnshaw's 25th league goal of the season wrapping up the points for the visitors 15 minutes from time. Scott Young got his first goal since his memorable winner against Leeds United over 14 months ago, from a Graham Kavanagh cross which was headed by Young onto the post and bounced off Paul Smith's neck in the Brentford goal into the back of the net. It should have probably gone down as an own goal but I'm sure Scott will be delighted to claim it! Robert Earnshaw sealed up the tie with his 25th
league goal of the season (29 in all competitions) Injuries to both Rhys Weston and Steve Jenkins saw Spencer Prior make his first appearance for the Bluebirds since criticising the Ninian Park boo-boys in the local press. The travelling City fans cheered most of Prior's touches, and he should have got back some confidence last night after a pleasing performance. Gavin Gordon failed to recover from a facial injury sustained at Stockport last Saturday, so missed the game. City returned to a 4-4-2 formation, with Alan Mahon on the left. The BTTB crew were amongst about 800 travelling City supporters who made the journey to West London. Full Time Score - Brentford 0-2 Cardiff City

assisted by an Alan Mahon header. Mahon, on loan from Blackburn until the
end of the season headed the ball forward for Earnshaw to run on to, who
comfortably slotted the ball past Smith in the Brentford goal, to end his
mini goal drought lasting two games!
The
critism Kavanagh got earlier in the seasons seems well and truly behind him
now. City's skipper put in another solid performance in midfield, and is
starting to show signs of his performances last season which saw him win the
Player of the Season award.
