Match Preview

Cardiff City vs Notts County
Saturday 8th March, 3pm
Nationwide Football League Division Two

The Bluebirds will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run to 9 games tomorrow as struggling Notts County visit Ninian Park.

Lawrence is expected to only make one change to the squad that one 2-0 at Griffin Park on Tuesday, with Gavin Gordon returning after breaking his nose at Stockport last Saturday. Lawrence is expected to start with the same XI that won at Brentford, with Gordon on the bench. Super Gav's return means Leo Fortune-West is likely to miss out on a place in the 16-man squad.

It will be a bid game for Spencer Prior tomorrow. Prior made his first appearance for the Bluebirds on Tuesday since slamming the Ninian Park boo-boys in the local press, this followed large sections of the crowd booing Prior when he came on as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Plymouth Argyle. It was a pleasing performance from Prior on Tuesday night, with the travelling City support cheering his every move! Both Rhys Weston and Steve Jenkins are still carrying injuries, meaning Gary Croft will start on the right side of defence, with Barker on the left.

It's also a big game for Robert Earnshaw, as he will look to become the fourth post-war Cardiff player to get 30 goals in a season. Click Here for full story.

Notts County currently sit 14th in the table but are only 5 points off the relegation zone and are desperate for points to stay clear of the bottom four. County are likely to be without Ian Baraclough and Darren Caskey with Billy Dearden, Nick Fenton and Willis Francis all doubtful.

Any County goals tomorrow are likely to come from Mark Stallard. Stallard already has 19 league goals for the season and his scoring form has kept the Magpies outside the relegation zone for most of the season and he will definitely be one to watch.

The last meeting between the two clubs was in September. The Bluebirds made it four consecutive wins with a 1-0 win in the scrappy affair at Meadow Lane with Gary Croft getting City's goal.

The Bluebirds have drawn their last three away games, but will be desperate to get three points tomorrow to keep the pressure on Crewe who face a tricky trip to Prenton Park.

Bluebird to the Bone Prediction:
Cardiff City 1-0 Notts County

It's getting to the time of the season where every point is vital, and nothing less than 3 points will do for the Bluebirds tomorrow against relegation threatened, Notts County.

I'm going for a 1-0 victory, with Earnshaw to get his big 30.
