Earnshaw to Italy?

Italian giants AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus have become the latest 'big' clubs to show interest in City striker, Robert Earnshaw.

It is though that top Italian football agent Giani Paladini has made contact with Earnshaw's agent Mel Eves. Eves has refused to comment about any discussions or negotiations with the Serie A clubs.

"We all know Robert can play at a higher level than Division Two. It is important that Cardiff City earn promotion this current season" said Eves.

After a memorable hat-trick in the 3-3 draw with Tranmere on Friday, Earnie has take his goal tally for the season to 32, equalling the record set by Lee Richards in City's FA Cup winning season 76 years ago.

Earnshaw has been a regular in the City starting line-up since the arrival of Sam Hammam to Ninian Park in August 2000 and despite constant rumours about Earnie's future, Hammam has insisted that unless a major club comes in for him, Earnshaw would stay with Cardiff.

Still, would a bid from such European giants such as AC Milan or Juventus be to much for ambitious Hammam to reject?  Earnshaw also recently said in an interview with FourFourTwo magazine that he would love to play abroad, especially in either Italy or Spain. Who would you rather play with? - Rivaldo or Peter Thorne?!

No fee has been mentioned yet, and during the season we have seen amounts from £1million to £10million being suggested!

Real Betis are also suggested to be interested in signing Earnshaw, aswell as a number of Premiership and Division One clubs.

There isn't much doubt that without Earnshaw this season Cardiff's promotion hopes would already be dead and buried and he certainly looks capable of playing at a higher level so it will be interesting to see if there is any development in this possible transfer move.
