Well what can I say, great turnout from the BTTB crew to see the mighty Bluebirds play a Sunday league team in Wycombe.
The game started very well with a great cross from Earnie in the 4th minute which was headed in by Peter Thorne, 1-0 before half the City fans were in the ground.
What happened then was unbelievable, City could not pass a ball, could not defend and definitely could not attack, this happened for 40 mins and we were lucky Wycombe had absolutely no idea at all.
The half time entertainment of kiddies taking penalties was better than the 1st half.
2nd half started better, obviously Lennie had given the players his normal motivational chat in the changing room.
City seemed to want to win.
They pushed Wycombe into there own half for the whole 2nd half near enough.
The biggest shout of the day was in the 60th minute when Spencer Prior was substituted supposedly for a groin problem, in reality because he's forgotten how to kick a ball.
Who came on, yes finally the man wa back after five months Danny Gabbidon ran on for a 1st team fixture.
Gabby was a little rusty for a few minutes but soon started to show why we have missed him so much.
68 minutes and the next breakthrough came with Alan Mahon coming in on the left and shooting from 20 yards to make it 2-0m, he then decided to dive into the City crowd as a celebration which gave him a yellow card.
A few more attacks later and we got to the 81st minute and who was there yet again, yes Peter Thorne to stab in his 2nd of the night and his 3rd in two games.
On 85 minutes Leggy decided to copy Alan Mahon and shoot again from about 20 yards from an even more acute angle for 4-0.
Earnie had a few goes but was unlucky on the night.
Ok it wasnt our best display but at the end of the day promotion is more of a reality than it was last Saturday night.
Roll on Sunday when hopefully one of us can give you all more good news when we get back from Chesterfield.
