Leyton Orient will be the first visitors to Ninian Park
for the new season, after the Bluebirds drew the O's in the draw for the
first round of the newly named Carling Cup this morning. The game will take place at Ninian Park on Tuesday August 12th, and will be a 7.45pm kick-off. The tie is played over one leg, so a result must be decided on the night, meaning the possibility of extra time and penalties. Matthew Brazier will be on familiar face in the Orient line-up, who joined the Third Division outfit from Cardiff during the 2001/2002 season. City progressed from the first round of the League Cup last season, with a 5-1 drubbing off Boston United. The victory earn City a trip to White Hart Lane in round two, to face Tottenham Hotspur. A battling City side went down 1-0, with Teddy Sheringham's first half goal separating the two sides. City's two rivals, Bristol City and Swansea City meet in the Southern Section.
